Re: Echoes of the Mind (1) (5.1)

The dog attack was edited too. Basically once Diane gets through the door, the scene cuts to Magnum and Dr Ibold at hospital. Does anyone know if Hallmark edits for time or for content? It’s a safe to assume that all syndication edits for time or content. Even when MPI was still on the air in the s...

Re: Dream A Little Dream (4.20)

I thought Magnum's flashback 1979 long hair made him look older , not younger. I think it would have worked better if he had shorter, neater hair in 1979 - because he was recently out of the Navy (where he'd have short neat hair) and hadn't had time to grow it long yet. (They didn't even have to cu...

Re: Ironside

Does anyone have any thoughts on Ironside, show where Raymond Burr (previously Perry Mason) plays a cop in San Francisco who becomes a paraplegic after he is shot. I started to do the usual anal-ytical WWW site for this show in 2017, but soon abandoned it. More recently, however, I started to conti...

Re: Magnum Reboot CANCELED

There is actually a decent beach at Pahonu pond/Robin Master's estate now. So I'd have a hard time convincing the Obama's I need to come inside the property to recover from a floundering swim :D I'd really like to know what they did to Magnums' guest house though. I wonder if its really a quest hou...

Re: Question about Magnum's bracelet/clasp thingy?

I never read it, but the basics were that people get into to teaching for essentially three reasons, they enjoy a subject, they like working with kids, or they are drawn to the lifestyle of long summers and holidays off. Haha! :D I actually fall into the first and third of those categories. I alway...

Re: Question about Magnum's bracelet/clasp thingy?

The fact that I stumbled into it after being miserable in film/television production, which I studied to pursue, is even more fortunate, I think. You coulda been a contender, you coulda had class, you coulda been a star. Instead of a teacher which is what you are.  Sorry, couldn't resis...

Re: Question about Magnum's bracelet/clasp thingy?

Wearing a bracelet wasn’t initially about remembering one’s family member, but rather for the public in general to show support for all MIA’s/POW’s and their families. It’s possible Hawke’s was for his brother, but that isn’t a certainty. TM wore one that wasn’t of a relation (see link below) but y...

Re: Question about Magnum's bracelet/clasp thingy?

Ok, thanks for the info, guys. So in the case of Stringfellow Hawke wearing it on Airwolf it makes sense because he's probably wearing a bracelet with his MIA brother St. John's name on it. But whose name would be on Magnum's bracelet? Some friend or family member that's MIA? I don't think it's eve...

Re: Doppelgangers from the original cast!

The only things that I can add to this thread are: 1. About 20+ years ago, a student of mine was reading a preview of the upcoming college football season in the magazines that used to do that about various sports. He came up to my desk and showed me a photo of an assistant coach for a team that I d...

Re: Has anyone ever seen BARETTA?

I was under the impression that BARETTA was a pretty popular detective show in the 70s and the role Robert Blake is most famous for, even though he already had a major starring role in the film classic IN COLD BLOOD. And I believe Blake even won an Emmy for the Baretta role. So it's baffling that t...

Re: Transitions (8.11)

charybdis, Thank you - or should I say 'ta' - for your most enlightening post! I'm so glad an excellent actor like John Hillerman put in the hard work getting the accent right. By the way I think Hillerman would have been a hoot as yet another of Higgin's half brothers, an ocker from beyond the bla...

Re: Has anyone ever seen BARETTA?

Ah ok. I was wondering if maybe they were somehow able to burn those episodes onto CD's back in the day. But I think you still needed DVD's for that. Was this in the late 90s when Columbia House was offering various shows on VHS tapes? I remember being super excited when I saw that KNIGHT RIDER was...

Re: Has anyone ever seen BARETTA?

Yep, I think HARRY-O is certainly less known or less remembered than BARETTA but even that one popped up on the Decades binge and on YouTube (complete episodes). David Janssen's main claim to fame was THE FUGITIVE. HARRY-O was the more obscure show. For Blake BARETTA seemed to be his signature work...
