Re: Season 5 Episode 20: The Big Squeeze (5.20)

Yes, there was an Ivan in the reboot. He appeared in only one episode though. Season 2's "Day I Met the Devil." It was definitely a bigger budget/higher stakes episode than normal.

Re: The 6th season

I think it was irresponsible of the show runners to assume a 6th season was coming. It had already been cancelled by one network and saved at the last moment by another. It was on shaky ground. Season 5 ended with a wimper rather than a bang and I think that is unfortunate. I don't see any new seaso...

Re: Season 5 Episode 20: The Big Squeeze (5.20)

I also have a question about the end of the show. In season 4 (I think) a mysterious white SUV was following TM. I assumed it was Ivan or Ivan's men. Did this story line ever play out? I don't think it did. Also, did Ivan ever make any type of appearance after Season 2's "Day I Met the Devil"? I don...

Re: Season 5 Episode 20: The Big Squeeze (5.20)

I was late to the party on the reboot. I watched the first episode this last September (of 2023) after I had finished watching every episode of the original. Overall I thought the reboot was solid. A decent show and worth the time to watch it. I ended up watching every episode. I really liked that t...

Re: Resolutions (2) (8.13)

This episode was a disappointment. Not terrible--but they left a lot of money on the table with the writing. The story with Lily Catherine was weird. No explanation as to what had happened to her after the explosion. Just, surprise!--your daughter is alive and here she is. Imagine the story they cou...

Re: Legend of the Lost Art (8.10)

This episode would only make sense if it was someone's dream (similar to Magnum's murder mystery dream in Murder by Night). I kept waiting for the punch line but it never came. As a dream this episode could have been celebrated as campy fun. Trying to play this off as a "real" episode was just stupi...

Re: The Love That Lies (8.6)

What horrible episode. A complete stinker. Soap opera garbage for a character who does not deserve this level of background story. If they're going to do a story on Carol Baldwin have it involve something like a murder mystery. Probably my least favorite episode ever, which is amazing given how stro...

Re: Laura (7.18)

This episode is easily a top 5 or 10 one for me, but then I love revenge stories. Francis was excellent as the retired cop. I can't believe they got Francis to guest star on the show. As good as Magnum was, it just seems odd that he would agreed to do the show. But I'm glad he did. I agree with othe...

Re: Death of the Flowers (7.12)

Weak episode. Icepick as a snitch? I'm not buying it. Plus, all the evidence Magnum and Carol found would be suppressed as it was gathered in an illegal search under the 4th Amendment. No convictions for anyone. I think the story lines were admirable, but the execution was ham handed and unbelievable.

Re: Murder by Night (7.14)

I watched the syndicated version tonight and it was in color. About 10 minutes in, after lamenting that I had wished it was in B&W, I realized that all I needed to do was turn off the color filter on my monitor. Problem solved. I watched the remainder of the show in B&W.

If anyone is interested, Momentum will be doing another pre-sale for the Sea Quartz 30 on June 21, 2023. I plan to get one.

More on the baseball glove used by Magnum... When Magnum pulls into the estate near the beginning of the epi, he stops to talk to Danny. Danny notices Mag's glove and says it is an Al Kaline like his. Neither glove is an Al Kaline model since they were only made by Wilson. Magnum's glove is a Rawli...

It's Larry Herndon. Outfielder, #31, played for the Tigers from 1982 to 1988.

Re: The Look (4.9)

I watched this one last night and agree with most of the posters here. Ok episode. Not terrible, not special. I would rate it as slightly above average. "The Look" angle was overplayed given Gretchen Corbett's appearance. She's clearly a very attractive woman, just with a very hideous hair style. I ...

Re: Smaller Than Life (4.3)

Wow, this one was a stinker. I'm willing to suspend disbelief most of the time with Magnum PI but this episode was several bridges too far. Magnum just happens to mistakenly enter the correct name in the computer system to get info on Waldo? And you can simply call the White House and talk to the pr...
