Re: Current estate condition

Almost a year later & unfortuneatly no forum member has purchased Robin's Nest w/ his lottery winnings, myself included. I really do hope someone buys the property & restores it to its 1980's condition. Judging from what an investment firm is doing w/ the CoCo Palm hotel I find it suprising an even ...

Re: Selleck

Imagine how incredible it'd be to win the lottery & buy/refurbish Robin's Nest & operate a B&B specializing in "Magnum For A Day" 3-day vacations complete w/ an early 80's 308gtb & an Island Hoppers helo giving aerial tours. It'd be easy to recreate the look & feel. Maybe even having the guests help...

MPI has a class that simply doesn't exist in today's television world. I mention because I simply cannot watch today's absolutely terrible telrvision. Even TV Land's original shows are classless, crude & plotless crap. Watching MPI is my escape to a time when tv and society itself conducted themselv...

I noticed the intro to this ep. had a few "Five'O" like scenes.

Re:

This is one of those episodes where you either love it or hate it. I'm in the former. Sure, it's got kind of a goofy plot, but Michael V. Gazzo is great as the bumbling old school mobster. And that whole sequence with Magnum & the grad student being chased by the mobsters through a pot field and on...

That's some good website! A King Kamehameha site would be great too.

Re: Season 1 General Discussion

Season #1 is so far & away THE best season of mpi its almost a different show, especially the 2 hr pilot. MV is the same thing. Both shows eventually became charactures of themselves to where the last couple of seasons are painful to watch IMO. I think the show peaked w/ season 3 & for the most part...

Re: Don't Eat the Snow in Hawaii (1) (1.1)

Am I correct in that ep. 1 is the ony time Ms Anderson allowed indoor filming? At the 4:00 mark Higgins is seen running down the stairs. Is this indeed the inside of Robin's Nest...or just another set?

Re: Luther Gillis: File #521 (4.2)

The Luther Gillis eps. are my favorite recurring character eps.. Nobody but Eugene Roche could pull off a character like Luther Gillis. So much so a seperate mini-series probably could have been done...then when tv had a strange thing like a sense of humor. Which is also what made MPI the great show...

Re: NO to a movie reboot, Yes to a tv show revival

After lurking for a bit I just thought I'd offer my 2 cents. And maybe it's already been suggested but I do not think a movie of any kind is a good idea. Look at the quality of movie let alone tv show you get these days. Unless you have someone willing to throw a ton of money behind it you will get...

Re: McConaughey turned down $15M for Magnum movie

Television was a big part of american's lives then. The internet has replaced it. Box office movies are far less influential now than ever. All we can do is be very glad to have grown up when we did watching cbs on Thursday nights one damned good show.

Re: McConaughey turned down $15M for Magnum movie

it's fool's gold to do the movie. The actor is the character...and w/o him....you don't have a movie. You simply have a movie using names and places we are familiar with. Whatever the movie turns out to be.......it won't be Magnum PI......it will be some movie with a character of the same name. My ...

Re: Pahonu for sale?

The estate was assesed at only 9 million. Caldwell Bankers admit upfont the home needs major repairs. Robim's book sales must have really decreased.
