Re: Playmobile Ferrari/MPI set

Awesome, love the retroness! LOL at Magnum's chest hair. They should have taken more care with his hat though, and stylized the "D". The one they went with makes him a...Dartmouth?...Duke? fan. I think TC looks the best, great detail on the shirt, suspenders, hat, and face. Too bad Roger is not arou...

Re: Pleasure Principle (8.2)

Something I noticed that may (or may not!) have influenced events a few years later... Magnum is trying to write Robin's book Die, And Die Again , and reads, "The desert storm engulfed us, dissecting our spirits with sabres of sand and chilling wind. And through the storm thundered the thousand sabr...

Re:

What's up with the tiki-torch sized flames jetting up from the votive wedding candles??? LOL I noticed that too! I think there must have been some fuel in them, not just regular wax and wick, because in the interest of time, they needed them to flare up quickly. It would have taken too long to ligh...

Re: Billy Joe Bob (2.1)

I watched the Twilight Zone episode. Pretty cool seeing the Professor pre-Gilligan's Island. It's been a long time since I've watched a Twilight Zone. Man, those must have been awesome to watch back in the day! And ok Ivan, I've never really been much of a western watcher, but I will try to watch th...

Re: Billy Joe Bob (2.1)

Watched this one today, and when I saw the James Whitmore, Jr. credit in the opening, thought back to when I met his dad (who was actually Jr., and Jr. was actually III.) His dad was doing his Will Rogers USA stage show at Ford's Theatre, and apparently he and my grandfather knew each other in the M...

Re:

I was surprised to see Ito play kendo early in the episode. It's not the most high profile martial art. I wonder if Seth Sakai was a kendo practitioner, or if a stunt double was performing? The latter may be plausible, since Ito's back is to the camera during the action segment of the scene, IIRC. ...

Re: Thomas Magnum--wimps out?

I’m glad you found the show again! :magnum: I remember enthusiastically watching syndicated episodes in the afternoons with my freshman roommate in college in the mid 80s, but oddly I have no memory of us ever trying to watch the original weekly evening episodes which were still being produced, or ...

Re: Thomas Magnum--wimps out?

Don’t waste your time..... Anyway, welcome to the forum. Maybe we can have a discussion on some other thread in the future. Sorry, I couldn't resist wasting a little bit more of my time. But thank you for the welcome. I hadn't thought of Magnum for years and years, but several months ago found it b...

Re: Thomas Magnum--wimps out?

Right...deflecting it back and accusing me of "vitriol" and "distortion". Perfectly fits the pattern. Looking over your history, you add no value here. One thread where you had some bizarre conversation with yourself over 27 posts. And several discussions where you’ve started off friendly, phonily c...

Re: Thomas Magnum--wimps out?

I figured this type of response was coming. The equivalent of someone cutting you off in traffic and when you honk, they flip you off (i.e., a jerk acting like a jerk and then when a non-jerk calls him on it, deflects it backs and defends himself like he's in the right.) This kind of person infects ...

Re: Thomas Magnum--wimps out?

Dude, what's your problem here? Starting arguments and being all rude? And also with the whole "smoking weed" discussion you started? It's all stupid, uninteresting nonsense. Believe whatever you want. Nobody cares.

Re: Tigers Fan (8.4)

I believe TC was actually the second base coach, not the first base coach. In Little League, I believe it's often permitted to have a coach at second to help the kids out with when they should run or not. But this is usually for real small kids, who are completely clueless. These kids here are old e...

Hi guys, I'm wanting to get in on this download, but see it's $69.99 right now. Anybody know how often these sales pop up, and when they do, how long do they generally last?

Re: The Love-For-Sale Boat (5.17)

Thanks for the welcome, Dobie. Nah, never noticed any shenanigans with Japanese words/phrases on shows. The name "Spagnum" is what one of my college roommates and I, just to be stupid I guess, started calling the show. We'd often watch the re-runs in the afternoons. So for example, it would be, "Hur...
