Great episode. I love how they use misdirection and red herrings in this one. Charlie was a great character in this episode. They should have used him for more small parts in more episodes.

I like all of the points made in previous posts. This is one of the best epis.

N: Don't worry. you'll get the hang of managing the media's portrayal of the storms as they approach. Get your supplies ready in June. Trim your trees and service your shutters. Also, leave town if a 4 or 5 is headed for you. These are difficult to ride out. Also, another thing I learned about the f...

Ag, I don't understand the fascination of Murder She Wrote. It was ok but my grandmother watched it for goodness sake. It wasn't really in the same league with MPI. I cannot imagine my grandmother watching MPI. Also, MSW did not spawn a bevy of copycats the way MPI did. Miami Vice, A Team, South of ...

Jay, This was indeed a great episode. I enjoyed it and it is one of my favorites. I love how MPI treated the Viet Nam and WW2 war vets with respect. They gave somewhat realistic depictions while maintianing respect and giving the benefit of the doubt... Frodo, I also believe the Pearl scenes in the ...

Who was your favorite guest star that appeared on MPI?

Who and why?

Some very famous people appeared on MPI over the years. Who was your favorite and why. No right or wrong answers (unless you select Cassie Yates).

Let's hear it!

I agree with Luther. If all of the principals and elements of the show had remained intact and better episodes written, the show could have run for 10 seasons. I think they could have made some changes without jumping but nothing totally whacky like Magnum adopting a surfing monkey... I wish they wo...

I agree that it is fun to rough up the episodes twenty-some years after the show's run. At the time however, the epsidoes seemed pretty cool. Some were excellent. Birds of a Feather is a weak episode but I love how they brought in the loyalty thing felt by Vietnam Vets toward thier fellow soldiers. ...

I liked most things about the show but I did not like the psychic mumbo-jumbo. The 'little voice' hunches were OK but the out and out ghost and dream communications from the dead (Jeffrey St Claire and the little boy under water) and the psychic hotline girl (Laura somebody) were too much for me. Oh...

Magnum Jumped the Shark ...discuss...

I believe MPI jumped the shark with the whole 'death, no it was a coma and he helped Michelle telepathically to avoid the killers' nonsense. Seasons 7 & 8, while handled pretty well, were an example of Jumping the Shark IMHO. Bringing in the daughter also counts, as does re-upping, and TC getting ba...

In my opinion, seasons 7 & 8 were the worst seasons. The show became a characature of itself with an obvious "how do we wrap this thing up so Selleck can go and do movies" feel. (I will admit there were some great epis in seasons 7 & 8, however) I liked the seasons in this order: 4 5 6 3 2 1 7 8 Mah...

I agree the dialog was powerful. The Vietnam war was very political. Many people dodged the draft and later proclaimed themselves experts on the subject (Bill Clinton and others). It took guts to fight in this or any other war. It took no guts to run away from duty... We are free today because of ou...
