Re: Is Jonathan Higgins Robin Masters?
Another point I haven't found anyone mentioning. If Higgins is Robin Masters, how does he manage to at the same time not only write two different books in two completely different styles but also always to switch between two variants of English language? If he wants to fool the whole world he has t...

Re: The Hotel Dick (6.5)
Episodes where the MPI main cast is sent abroad (whether it's U.S. mainland, Britain, France, Cambodia or just the other side of O'ahu) must always have been hard to create, of course, they are lacking of that "home advantage" and have to convince at another point. In this case it's not only an "awa...

Re: Paradise Blues (4.15)
I really don't care for this episode whatsoever, a 6 for me. - I love TC but just felt he was pretty gullible to hook up with Alex again. He's smarter than that even though he loved her. - The guy playing the trumpet or flugelhorn or what ever it was SUCKED! That was one of the most annoying scenes...

Re: Favorite scene and favorite episode
I can't pick just one either, so I just list a few ... - of course the very first scene of "Don't Eat the Snow In Hawaii", it's just classic - also already mentioned, the "Mama" featured scene from "Death and Taxes" - the final scene of "Did You See the Sunrise?", this is a classic one too which nev...

Re: Is Jonathan Higgins Robin Masters?
There is no doubt that if one pays attention to the details from the early seasons, there is really no compelling evidence that Higgins could conceivably be Masters. That said, Magnum PI would not be the first show to evolve and change some central and key elements during the show's progression. If...

Re: Stories they could have done
Just a few ideas ... Within the series's canon: - A reunion with Fr. Paddy MacGuiness and Brigadier Alistair Folkes, but this time somewhere in Northern Ireland, maybe chasing some IRA guys - As already mentioned, a crossover with Hawaii 5-0 would have made sense. Maybe also put in Quang Ki and Wo F...

Re: Is Jonathan Higgins Robin Masters?
Being a Magnum Maniac inevitably leads to wondering whether Higgins and Robin Masters are one and the same person or not. I myself might be too deeply stuck into logic, but to me they are and will ever be two different characters. As many people already mentioned, it's too obvious and seeming to be ...

Re: Aloha everybody :)
Thanks! :) The only thing I was sure about from the very beginning is that I definitely won't be the only lover of series that are older than I myself am. :) At another place I already mentioned German series "Derrick", of which only the last five seasons were aired when I already had been born. But...

Aloha everybody :)
After already having made myself noticeable in a couple of threads in here, I decided it can't harm to introduce myself officially. So, I'm Tesza, I live in Germany and, as a 22-years-old, I certainly belong to the youngest generation of Magnum Maniacs represented in this forum. :) I first came into...

Re: Never Again ... Never Again (1.7)
This is an episode that can be re-watched many times, with the surprising plot twist "flashing" every time again. A Jewish couple, of course, would be the last one to suspect of having engaged in cruel actions in a concentration camp. As a viewer you won't get suspicious before seeing the early 1950...

Re: Tigers Fan (8.4)
As already stated by someone else, the makers of the episode must have thought, "Hmm, we only have half the final season left, we absolutely need to kill someone off now. Just let's roll the dice ... okay, a four. Four is an unlucky number in Eastern Asia, so it's gonna be Tanaka." To me the arbitra...

Re: The Sixth Position (2.11)
Gave it a 9.0. Not as light as "From Moscow to Maui", but not "too" dark either, and set up the other way round (American goes Russia). In general, I enjoy watching episodes dealing with spies and agents, especially set in the Cold War (despite also having some roots on the "other side"). This episo...

Re: From Moscow to Maui (2.4)
I gave it an 8.5. This is definitely a classic. It deals with the Cold War in quite a light way (in comparison to e.g. "Did You See the Sunrise?"), just a little agent & spy game as well as very funny Higgins scenes you laugh about when just thinking of them. Despite having watched it only twice, wi...
