Re: RIP John Hillerman

A sad day indeed but peppered with happy memories of a very fine actor's performances.
Wonderful to read such heartfelt tributes on the forum as well.

Re: A Girl Named Sue (8.7)

Is this the only episode (so far) where Thomas blatantly uses his appeal to the opposite sex to garner information? I am referring, of course, to the scene with Julie Marsh at the marina. It seems out of character but having watched 150 episodes now I can't recall if he has done it before.

Re: The Love That Lies (8.6)

This is one of, if not the best "melodrama" episodes of the whole eight series. We have followed these characters for a long time (30+years in my case) and to see them battle with their consciences and suffer emotionally was very moving. On a different note, I'm not happy about highlighting the foll...

Re: Compulsion (5.14)

Higgins' photo is not of Churchill nor Mountbatten, it is Field Marshall Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein. It's not a particularly well-faked photo either - the facial shadows do not correspond. A thoroughly enjoyable episode though, particularly the scene where Higgins' Sa...

Re: Holmes Is Where the Heart Is (4.18)

Would TM really have damaged a wine cabinet belonging to his wealthy benefactor just to get one over on Higgins? I like to think that TM would never have sunk so low - it is completely out of character. Hey, Higgins re-enacted the Battle of Waterloo on the lawn complete with apparently firing a can...

Re: Blind Justice (5.7)

I may be completely wrong but I venture to suggest that the photograph's of Debbie Carrington, provided by her mother Ann, are actually of a younger Kathleen Lloyd. Thoughts anyone?

Re: The Case of the Red Faced Thespian (4.12)

It is out of character that Rick is seen being affectionate with Lady Cynthia (stroking her arm) whilst on the beach yet he was not shown reacting to news of her death. Surely he would have been upset? Still one of the best episodes of the series though.

Re: Fragments (5.6)

Towards the end of the episode, when Laura reveals the location of the McGuffin, the shot of Higgins' reaction is flipped over - his hair parting is on the wrong side. Just one of several flubs in this episode by a novice director, perhaps.

Re: Smaller Than Life (4.3)

Both this episode and the previous one "Luther Gillis: File #521", contain scenes where a dead body, standing upright, falls flat on the floor after a door has been opened.

Re: Magnum PI in HD on ITV4 on SKY in UK today

Yes, Louise - this is really annoying. I've been recording the episodes and watching them when I can so I'm a bit behind where you are and I've just discovered that ITV4 has skipped episodes 3.1 and 3.2! Looks as if I'll have to buy the season on DVD after all. I saw the episodes when originally bro...

Re: The Last Page (2.20)

SPOILER ALERT:- There is something puzzling about this episode which is probably obvious but hopefully one of you guys can explain. Early in the episode, Taylor gives Magnum the names of Linda Greer and Celeste to help in his search but where did he get these names from? When Thomas is eventually "i...

At the beginning of the show, when Magnum comes from the guest house to the main house (before he runs into the ballerinas). He comes down the guest house steps. Anyone notice a flash of some sort? It looks like lightning or a flash bulb. If it was lightning, he comes around the corner and it is su...

Re: Mad Buck Gibson (2.9)

I think I've spotted a flub in this episode:- Whilst Buck is lying in Thomas' bathtub, he initially fires four sets of Mozambique Pattern rounds into the wall (four head shots and eight chest shots). Shortly afterwards, whilst Thomas and Jonathan are talking in the grounds, we hear a further four se...

Re: The Woman on the Beach (2.3)

This is my first post, so "Hi Guys!" As some of you know, the ITV4 channel here in the UK has recently begun showing Magnum P.I., some 32 years after it was originally aired. It's been great to watch all the episodes in sequence and to have this website, with its guides and fans' thoughts to refer t...
