I just finished Split Image, the latest and presumably final Jesse Stone book. It was a little sad to realize that Parker didn't live to see it published.

Ironically, it works rather well as a concluding chapter to both the Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall series. (Although moreso for the latter.)

At this point, I'm ready for Selleck to just release them straight to dvd. If there's an upside to stockpiling tv movies, I'm not really sure what it is.

This would make a lot more sense if NBC was behind it.

I really like this one, too. I initially expected another 24 clone, but it's much more like a throwback to the 1980s. Hopefully it will be renewed for next season.

It should really come as no surprise that Michael Jackson has met with a tragic and bizarre end. And yet, I can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that "Michael Jackson" is no longer with us. Regardless of his music or personal life, he was one of those pop culture icons that seemed to always be l...

Thanks for the link. It's interesting to hear him acknowledge the bookend episodes, since you rarely see an actor pointing those out!

Monte Walsh is a very good film. It was his last western before playing Jesse Stone, and both characters have a certain sadness about them. (Both also share scenes with the great William Devane. :) )

Selleck probably feels that primetime security ain't what it used to be- especially after his experience on Las Vegas.

I thought he handled the ambush quite well. He was supposed to be asked about the movie he was plugging. I remember this being the general consensus in the press as well- even among people that were very anti-gun. Selleck was there to promote The Love Letter, which had the unenviable task of openin...

Shermy, I always had trouble reading the women he dated were older than Jesse Stone, otherwise I pictured TS as Jesse all the time. Yeah, there's also the occasional mention of Stone being a much younger guy, but I still picture Magnum anyway. It almost feel like Parker now writes the charact...

You've got the (chronological) order right: Night Passage, Stone Cold, Death in Paradise, Sea Change, Thin Ice. Night Passage was technically the second film released, but it was a prequel. I'm not sure why they went that route, but I assume they weren't thinking too far ahead when they started out....

I finally got around to reading this one. It's a pretty lightweight affair, but a fun read nonetheless. This is mainly due to the fact that it's nearly impossible not to picture Selleck in the role at this point. My favorite entries are also the ones that capture the small town feel of Paradise and ...

It's an odd list, especially when you consider that MacGyver always preferred a non-violent approach! :?

Thanks, Agatha! :)

That's pretty funny that it did end up being from Season 5. I guess we all need to revisit that one more often?
