Here's an interesting note: Simon & Simon also changed their theme song after Season 1. Here's a link to the original: http://youtube.com/watch?v=vfYgHeJ8WY8&feature=related This original theme fits better with Simon & Simon than the original Magnum theme fit with its show. Both were changed to the ...

I'm with you, james. I actually liked the Freebairn-Smith version too. When I first found the site, I downloaded the MP3 from the site and put it on my iPod. I've been looking for this theme for a long time. However, I do agree the the "iconic" version is better suited to the show. It does start it ...

I liked Baa Baa Black Sheep and WKRP as well. I do agree that Dukes of Hazzard and The A-Team have not held up well from when I was a kid. Here's an obscure one for you: how about Tales of the Gold Monkey? It didn't last long, but was a good show. It was "accused" of being a Raiders of the Lost Ark ...

Just watched the clip provided by James. Great use of the song for this scene. Look at Magnum as he enters the alley: unshaven, unkept, tired. This killer is really bothering him... As we have discussed before, Season 7 seems to bring out the "grown up" Magnum. This scene is a good example of this. ...

When my wife and I went on our honeymoon to England in 2000, we stayed in a little B&B in the lake district. Both of us could swear that the lady that played Agatha was staying there at the same time! She looked the same, talked the same, and many of the mannerisms were the same. Too bad I can't rem...

James, this seems to be the episode I catch when I have to stay at home with the kids when they're sick. This is one of my all time favorite episodes, so I too am looking forward to Season 7 on DVD! 8)

Doc, you are correct. It is "Mama" by Genesis. This is the perfect song for this episode, with its heavy drum beat and strange sounding voice used by Phil Collins.

I was introduced to Magnum when I was about 11 years old. I used to record theme songs off the TV of the shows I watched (and some shows I didn't watch) for music to listen to. One of my friends told me to record the them song to this great show that comes on Thursday nights. I set up my tape record...
