Yea, I think MACATTACK just embarrassed himself again... This is your brain on drugs!

The caliber of the posters on Magnum Mania has really gone down hill over the last couple of years...

That's the thing about opinions...they differ. If you watch the commentary by a couple of the writers on the season 8 disk, they are clear that there was never a real plan as to whether or not Higgins was Robin. It was a great idea to write this in however because look at the turmoil it still produc...

Coops,

Yea, but did he lie about saying he was Robin or did he lie all those years by not admitting he was actually Robin? It can be seen either way.

This is the brilliance of the situation. We are still discussing this 20 some years after the show wrapped!

Cheers.

Since LV has been in the can for a few years now, does anyone wish to revise their comments upward? Was the show actually better than your first impression of it? For me, it was still not a very good show. It may have been better in the early years but Selleck jumped onto a sinking ship. It was bett...

Yes, I would agree there were some similarities. I watched this show during its first run and enjoyed it. Today, I do not find it as funny. Nothing against the show however. It was one of the funniest shows around during its time and one of the best ever IMHO.

I never watched it. Maybe this is a DVD project I can begin someday?

Many people L-O-V-E-D this show. What made it special?

I watched 5-0 during its first run...yea, I'm an old kodger. It was a great show but it did not weather well in reruns IMHO. It was dated and I just cannot get a good feeling about it now that its run is over. There are lots of shows that hit me the same way. They were great in their timeframe but o...

I lean toward the idea that Higgins was indeed the brains, talent, and money behind the Robin Masters concept and that he valued his privacy to the extent that he would hire an actor to play the Robin part for the press. Actually, even the actors and writers do not agree. There was no definitive yes...

I have to be the wet blanket here and introduce some reality to this discussion. None of the recurring characters had enough interest level within them to carry their own series. Heck, even the main characters would not have been successful IMHO. John Hillerman was the best actor of the bunch and Se...

Walks, Doughnuts are a police staple in general or at least a stereotype anyway. The reasons I mentioned it here is that Jesse never took the doughnuts to Suitcase before in my memory. Suit always had them and offered them to Jesse. This reminded me of how Magnum took pastries to Mac when attempting...

More connections to MPI ?

I loved the watch shot. Definitely a tip of the hat to MPI ! However, there are a couple more that were subtle but may also be related: 1) Jesse took a box of doughnuts to Suit when they met. Now remember, TM always took pastries to Mac when trying to con him for information and Jesse was trying to ...

Here is one idea I have been holding onto for a while. It's kind of "out there" but hear me out. What if there was an episode where Magnum discovers that Higgins is really still an MI6 agent masquerading as major domo because he is investigating Robin Masters due to some connections to international...

I like this campy episode even though it is gnarly in places. It was good to see TC and Rick actually get paid by Magnum for a change. Did that ever happen again in a episode? It seems like I remember TC helping himself to Magnum's paycheck in another episode to recoup some of the gas money and glas...

I love the global community of MPI: Higgins, a British MI6 agent, hires Garwood Huddle, an American bank robber, to rob a Mexican bank to steal German Nazi documents... MPI was ahead of its time. I know we must suspend disbelief in order to enjoy TV but give me a break. They forceably restrain a 'ma...
