Is AJ Cooper and Jesse Stone the same person?

The deadpan style that TS uses for Jesse reminds me almost exactly of his portrayal of Cooper. I'm not talking about the details of the characters but the mannerisms of TS during his portrayals. He is very calm, stoic, non emotional, and very dry.
Is this how he would play TM in 2009? What do you think?

I don't have TV,
Luther, so I don't know anything about AJ Cooper...but I have to say that I don't think TS would play TM like Jesse Stone in 2009 because TM and Jesse are very different characters! I'm sure that TM would be more mature in 2009 than he was during the Magnum run, but even at the end, he...and TS...were older and more mature than at the beginning. Just because a person in older and more mature doesn't mean that they can't have a sense of humor. I think TM does...and I think TS does...but Jesse's sense of humor is buried under a lot of heavy life experience so we don't see much of it.
Just my opinion...
