I don't know how much you guys watch ESPN, but they do NFL highlights after the games at 7PM. Anyway, the Eagles have a tight end, Brent Celek, that had a carrer day. His last name is pronounced Selleck. When Chris Berman was doing the highlights he kept bringing up Magnum P.I. references whenever they would show a Celek highlight. Normally I tire of Berman's style, but I loved the love shown for MPI.

Oh man...What a perfect opportunity for us to come up with our own "Berminism's".......
Brent "It's Private Investigator" Celek
or
Brent "Did You See The Sunrise" Celek
or
?????

Do you remember what Berman said?
Hmm, I'd probably say something like,
"McNabb to Brent "No Magnum Movie Without" Celek"! Or,
"Brent "I don't have a stache" Celek".

He did give a Higgins shout out, and I think he called him Brent "Magnum PI" Celek. I think this is the link to the video.

A lot of the sports bloggers are now referring to Brent Celek as Brent "don't call me tom" Celek. Heh.
Saw a funny little exchange on the NFL Gameday Highlights show the other day, during the highlights of the Eagles-Cowboys game. It went something like this:
Rich Eisen: McNabb to Brent Celek. No relation to NFL Network's Mark Salley(?) or baseball's Bug Selig.
Deion Sanders: What about Tom Selleck?
Rich Eisen: Not that one either.
Deion Sanders: Or related to anybody....
(both laugh)
I kind of feel bad for the guy. Every time his name is mentioned it's tied to a nickname, often a different variation every time!

And I have to admit every time I hear his name now I think of TS and get a chuckle.
