That would be pretty darn cool, I must say! It's perfect. He's made for that role!

I had hopes that this was the case. No one could play it better!

Larry Manetti IS Orville "Rick" Wright.
Sorry if I'm being a buzzkill.

I wish he would have declined. His being in the show would seem to give it some legitimacy before it has been earned (and I don't think it ever will be).

Is Manetti struggling financially? Or is there a back story about him not turning down money? I'm curious!

It sure does look like Larry had that stroke we were talking about.....right hand/arm not moving and even the right side of his mouth is drooping a bit.

While I’m not impressed with the trailer of the reboot I think this is probably a good idea from the success/financial standpoint. Obviously they’re hoping older fans will tune in and trying to give them a reason to. I can’t blame LM either. He’s an actor, probably could use the money as well as being on a hit tv show, if in fact it becomes one.
I’m not excited about the pilot but I’m just going to go into it with the mindset of it being what it is. A new and different show with small similarities to the old show. If I don’t like it I just won’t watch anymore. The positives I see are the potential new fans of the original and as I stated elsewhere on the forum hopefully it will get us a US Blu-ray release of the original. Which I’d buy in a heartbeat. No matter the price.

My thought is Larry has been a huge part of keeping the show in the public's mind over the years what with the book, his pod cast, his wearing of the Team Ring when he and Roger appeared on Las Vegas and he may have been the one that got Lenkov on board to do the reboot while guest starring on H-50......I would be fine with him as Ice Pick and am betting he would play a big part in getting Roger and Tom on the show somehow. (I would still love to see Selleck play Lil' Tommies grandfather).......

My understanding is that Tom has made it clear he will not guest on any new Magnum series or movie where he is not playing Magnum.

Yeah, no doubt
Conch. Selleck will absolutely NOT be appearing in the reboot. If they offered him $100 million, for one episode, he would reject it in a New York minute! Larry. He would. And I'm glad. I hope he is, because that would be awesome!

Hmm. You bring up a interesting point. When you have actors so identified with roles they made their own, it would be very difficult to bring them back in a reboot as someone else.
Ten years ago(before he passed on) a reboot with Don Knotts as Goober Pyle on a new Andy Griffith Show? Ron Howard as Floyd the Barber?
Barbara Eden as Aunt Bea? Well that's stretching a point as she was in only one episode as Floyd's manicurist( in a dress so tight it looked painted on) but I guarantee every man who ever saw it remembers her in it. In fact guys who are reading this now are going "oh yeah baby Barbara Eden".
At any rate I too vote "no" on Mister Manetti as Icepick.
