A lot of green this week . I would think CBS would be quite pleased .

That's what I said.

Nice bump from H50.

I think you win Laohu.

Even with average 0.6 key demo (which used to get series cancelled) I think this continues.

CBS and other old networks are looking to survive and they seem to think it's good enough.

In other words, what would they replace it with?

Network TV is dying a slow death and I guess even if they make a little money they're happy.

Congratulations.

I am learning a lot in this thread.

When the numbers are down, it‘s clear evidence that the show sucks.
When the numbers are up, there are only external factors, that „pull up“

Wish that it would be that easy when I am looking at my business numbers....

Life would be easier.

It's true though.

Only real bump in Season 1 was an airing right after a big NFL game on a Sunday.
The pilot and episode 2 were watched and then decline started.
The last 4 episodes viewers plummeted.

Only time above 0.55 and 0.65 (Avg. was 0.6) Season 2 was the H50 crossover.

Just facts.

Oh, and thanks for the kudos that I capitulated and said I felt your show would go on and continue.

Appreciate you always look for the good before posting.

A tip of my Tigers hat to you T.Q . No victory laps until it is official , When it is the way I look at it we all win .

It is true that people have more viewing options then ever before but make no mistake the money that the networks are making is no small amount . It is huge bussiness not just in America but world wide .On one of the H50 twitter feeds they posted that the Magnum PI part of the crossover was the highest rated show in France for the week .

With its winter finale, CBS’ Magnum P.I. this Friday drew 7.1 million total viewers — its second largest audience of the season — while holding steady with a 0.7 rating, landing in a three-way tie for the nightly demo win.

Bookending the hiatus-bound drama, Hawaii Five-0 (7.5 mil/0.7) and Blue Bloods (7.5 mil/0.6) each ticked down in the demo

.64 down from last season's .89? My understanding is .8 or less is pretty bad?

Hi Laohu,
When you say "winter finale", does that mean it's finished for the year, or will there be a few more episodes? I'm missing Perdita already,
and speaking on behalf of all red blooded men everywhere, I was hoping she would appear at least once in a bikini this year. What a gyp!

I think her body is weird. Kinda like a Munchkin.

Apparently Hawaii Five-0 has been cancelled. As some of us guessed, CBS must have been eying Magnum P.I. as a Hawaii Five-0 replacement. I'm pretty sure some of Hawaii Five-0 cast will move to Magnum P.I. and most of them will for sure get some recurring or guest roles. I see Noelani becoming regular or recurring cast member, as well as Kamekona. I'm pretty sure Magnum P.I. will be renewed for season three, just to keep at least one hawaiian show on CBS. I think that CBS Friday lineup will be MacGyver and Magnum P.I.

I've been watching Hawaii Five-0 since it's premiere, and i've seen all the episodes. It was not the smartest and most sophisticated show, but i enjoyed it either way. I'll miss it. Original Magnum was definitely better, and i love to see Hawaii in 80s watching it, but i'm glad that there's reboot. I know that most of forum members hates it and i'm rare exception. I guess i just can compartmentalize both of them. We will never have anything as good or better than 80s Magnum P.I., even if most of the original cast would magically make some kind of continuation or reunion. Both, actors and Hawaii just changed too much. Jay Hernandez is definitely not great to be Magnum, but i enjoy Perdita Weeks and Zachary Knighton in it.

I liked Hawaii Five-O for the first 5 seasons or so.

Then it became super dumbed down after Wo Fat died.

Really lame around episode when a CGI plane landed on Kalakaua Ave.

Anyways, people like dumbed down now I guess (weak stories with no depth and lotsa auto-gunfire and tired choreographed fights) so...

Looks like Mini-Mag will live on.
