Magnum Mania!

Hi everyone

As far as Magnum PI goes, it is one of my favorites. However, I have a softspot for many other shows. Only thing is, I haven't seen a lot of these shows much as I have a lot of catching up to do. I will list the the ones that I've seen at least a few times. So the question to all of you is....

Besides Magnum, which of these other shows did you enjoy watching?

No doubt I missed a few, so please let me know what you liked. Please try to limit it to crime drama or detective based, or if it has a slight twist, that's fine (ala A-Team or GAH). All I have to say is that they don't make shows like they used to. The shows today wouldn't have existed if these and many other shows didn't pioneer the whole thing. One can only wonder if these shows were made 20 years later...

Remington Steele (another personal favorite of mine, shame it didn't go further)

Greatest American Hero (very underrated and had a sad fate)

Rockford Files (very well done, good acting)

Quincey (Enjoyable, good plot lines and well laid out)

A-Team (Cheesy, but good plot story and fun to watch)

MacGyver (I was an extra once on this show! Loved it and it was filmed in my city!)

Chips (a true classic)

Hawaii 5-0 (I've only seen like 2 episodes of this one! I want to see the rest)

Airwolf (Only watched this once, more on the cool side of things)

Miami Vice (Didn't watch this much as I never knew when it was on, but I liked it)

Knight Rider (The remake is nowhere near as good as this series!)

Mike Hammer (the one with Stacy Keach, I really enjoyed these ones)

Hunter (one of the best "cop" shows made, period)

From your list there are a couple of my own favorites: Airwolf and Hunter I watched religiously. I recently saw some Hunter reruns and they hold up well after 20 years. I also just adored Stepfanie Kramer (the McCall character) back then!
I watched part of a Hawaii Five-O episode online not too long ago and could not believe how cheesy the acting was!
I also regularly watched Remington Steele and Chips. Miami Vice occasionally too.

I loved GAH...never missed an episode, well maybe one or two when circumstances were beyond my control! That show was on before there were VCRs (well, there were VCRs, but not many people could afford them), so watching a TV show religiously required quite a commitment. Another show that I was quite committed to as an adult was Dallas. When I was in high school, I never missed Mod Squad...my sister and I thought that it was the coolest show on earth! I was also a big Gunsmoke fan...loved my s**t-kicker TV shows...Maverick, Have Gun Will Travel, Sugarfoot, Stoney Burke (with Jack Lord, no less!). golf??? I know you must have watched some of these shows...I think we discussed this on a thread in the past...my memory's not what it used to be!

SL, I never watched any of those shows. They were before my time, but I did see clips of Gunsmoke. I know my mother was a major fan of Dallas. I've never heard of the other shows They sound good though

Speaking of GAH, this is my favorite all time Seinfeld moment which parodies the theme song. Now it's in my head again! I can laugh at this scene for days....

Oh, SL I forgot to mention that Stephen J. Cannell is in talks about a GAH movie. Can't wait to hear about this one. There's even a discussion about a MacGyver movie. Not making these up, and I couldn't believe it at first...

Wow! I had forgotten about these two shows. They were basically the same show but in Route 66 the vehicle was a Corvette and Bronson rode a motorcycle. I kind of liked Then Came Bronson better...something about the motorcycle that was romantic in a way, and very cool!
