So, the Conch Republic Independence Celebration kicked off Friday evening, sorry I'm a little late, I'm on Island Time!

Excellent choice. I'm going to go with my "biker in paradise" outfit. Somehow I feel this would fit right in walking around Key West, especially if accompanied by a pair of tightie whities...

Just to clear up any misconceptions, I am not in Key West, unfortunately. (I did get away a little over a week ago for Buffett & The Eagles in Orlando however!)

I am channeling the spirit of the Conch Republic though, typing away in my office with a playlist spinning tropical tunes in the background.

Barefoot Holiday by the Brent Burns is currently fading, replaced by Red River Rock by the Ventures.

What crazy fun! The parade after party time cracked me up "9 - LATE". Have you ever been able to attend any of the festivities, Conch? (and your shirt pic above isn't showing?)

Mrs. Conch and I have yet to enjoy any of the Independence celebrations. We usually tend to avoid events that brings crowds . . . yet we always tend to visit over New Year's. :-/

I do have a couple of Conch Republic shirts though, my fave from the '92 10 year anniversary shindig (which they continue to reprint) says "Growing Old Disgracefully" on the back. Fitting!
