Pretty funny to see all those pugs swimming around in the tidal pool!

Any idea how they happened to use the estate as place to meet? It doesn't look like anyone went into the estate itself. Dose Ms. Anderson have a pug? Thought she was a large dog kind of person.
Maybe, if we all had pugs, we could have a meetup there......

Higgins and the Lads would've insisted this be halted at once!

LOL
IKWYT!
I believe Ms. Anderson has two Labs. It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like they may have had a picnic on the grounds. Take a look at
this and
this.

All I can say is, "Thank GOD this wasn't going on when I was there at the tidal pool!" If I had come around the corner and seen this, I would have run screaming into the surf, LOOKING FOR the 15-foot tiger shark that was there when we were.
I have no objection to pugs in the proper perspective. This is virtually sacrilege to me, having just been there in a properly worshipful attitude.
It's a public beach, anyone can go there, but OMG, imagine being there and trying to commune with the spriit of MPI, and THIS is there?
It seems more like a trick Magnum would play on Higgins to get back at him for something.

P.S. Look at this one too:
I suppose this could have been snapped while one was backed up to the closed gate, but the configuration of wall and tree on the right (in this picture) doesn't look like what I saw (but I was seeing it in completely different light and I guess that can distort perception somewhat).

Whoa, Hold the phone there, Are you saying there was a shark in the tidal pool? According to TM the tidal pool was built to keep sharks out and sea turtles in. However I always wondered with what looks like a huge opening in the middle [east wall] of the tidal pool wall and a smaller one at the southeast, how this could be possible. Details on the shark please.

I'd like to know about the Tiger Shark as well. If I were TM I wouldn't have gone for too many swims wiht those things around.

On Monday night, September 15, we heard on the local news there that a 15-foot tiger shark had been spotted off Waimanalo Beach that day.
It was the next morning, Tues., Sept. 16, when Larry and I went over there, techically, I suppose to Kaupo Beach, which according to the map is the area between the tidal pool and the actual Waimanalo Beach Park, to go snorkeling; and as we were getting ready to go in the water, pulling masks over our heads and down to our necks, spitting, swishing, etc., a local man who was there, who was putting on big fishing boots, told us we might want to reconsider or be especially on the lookout because the shark that was spotted there the day before. Larry wouldn't go in

; I did. I didn't see anything, and I'm obviously here to tell the tale. We'd had so little luck with good snorkeling, plus all my equipment glitches, that, by golly, I WAS going snorkeling, shark or no shark. Of course, I thought I was swimming in water about 3-4 feet deep and I thought that was rather shallow to allow that big a shark to come that close to shore. Larry later told me that the water was closer to 15-20 feet deep where I was (boy, depth in that clear water is deceptive!). Had I known that, I might not have been so cavalier about it all. Larry probably wouldn't have to worry about my being killed by being eaten by the shark, because if I'd seen the shark swim under me, I probably would have had a heart attack and died right there floating on my little air mattress.
So, no, the shark was NOT in the tidal pool. We did not even attempt to snorkel in the tidal pool, as it was either too full of pole fisherman and kids or too shallow. I wish now we had gone just outside the tidal pool and tried around the outside of the rock wall. I guess I really didn't think about it at the time because Larry refused to do the "snorkel shot" with me -- party pooper!

I like your "have no fear" mentality! A little 15-foot Tiger shark wasn't gonna prevent you from getting in a little snorkeling! Maybe the shark was drawn to the area by the overwhelming smell of Pugs?

I always wondered how deep the tidal pool really was....
You can see Magnum swimming steadily along with no big issues, and then he stops and stands and the water is up to his knees.
TS's arm length would have made it a pretty short, choppy stroke if he didn't have full extension (due to the shallowness).
But, when you watch him swimming in the tidal pool on several occasions, he has long, measured strokes that indicate full extension, due to the rate he was moving at. And then he stands up to knee length water.
It wasn't a "catch-up" stroke where you draw your thumbs along your midline and have the "choppy effect" from above.
Heck maybe it was those darn tides

I seem to recall a woman from either the old A&E Board or the Yahoo Group board that supposedly worked on the show as one of the hired scuba divers to keep a lookout for sharks when shooting in the Tidal Pool and the Ocean. Perhaps James or Golf could ask their memorabilia contact if they did indeed hire such folks............

One has to wonder just what possessed Mrs. Anderson to have all those dogs there and who might have cleared up after all them?
There are strict laws for dogs re beaches on Oahu, but unfortunately in the area of the Estate, those laws seem more relaxed.
Oh for the days of the lads!
