Magnum in the UK?

I know we have some UK folks here. I saw an old interview on Facebook where Selleck told the BBC that due to their different video system, the show was speeded up on UK TV stations. This resulted in him thinking he sounded like a chipmunk. Have any of our UK members seen the show in both video systems and can comment on how much of a difference there is?
