I just discovered Magnum P.I. trading cards existed back in the early eighties, I checked ebay, and some of the sellers seem to some cards left. Does anyone here know how many cards were made and what years? They don't seem to be quite collectable, only valuable to us "Magnum P.I." fans.

Pretty sure there are 66 in a set and they were produced in 1983. I have 4 complete sets all unopened and in their counter shelf unit with the header card attached, pretty cool actually. Although not worth - it seems - anything! Priceless to me obviously...

Bought myself a complete unopened box of them a while back, but the OCD in me won't let me open it, so have just bought a "near mint" complete set on ebay just to see what they look like and enjoy them!

I'd like some of these. Would be nice if someone scanned the set and posted them on MM. Would be a worthy addition to the site.
All there is is a scan of the front and back of an unopened pack on the (impossible to find)
tie-in products page.

If you do open them, I wouldn't suggest eating the gum after all these years.

I am no expert on this matter so maybe mine is a dumb question:
I understand these cards were sold with bubble-gums, so what are those "complete unopened boxes" mentioned above?

I believe they are the boxes that were originally supplied to the convenience stores to sell.
Here's an image of the box (note the perforated tear-away line and "36 count" - no doubt, referring to the fact that there are 36 packages inside.

I've updated the images on the first page of the thread. I'll continue to do so as I discover more.

Thanks Styles.
I assume each package contains random cards so there's no guarantee you'll get all of them.
