Hillerman keeps british accent?

Watched this on youtube, and Hillerman appears to keep his British accent off set

Facinating! I wish he would have mussed up Jessica Fletchers hair (in a gentlemanly,proper british style of course) when he walked past her............

That sounds more like an American accent to me. It's a softer accent, but quite American to my ear.

It sounds like a mix of British and American accents. This video is from 1985 and it feels as if it could have been shot yesterday, how little has changed at these events, everyone looks the same. I always despised these events, both the people on stage and in the audience.
