Being new to this group, I don,t know what's already been covered, and how much!I loved the food, snacks, treats, that Magnum ate on the show. I have my list, what about you guys? Not just the food, but how it was prepared, where it came from. A top ten? Aloha

I will admit that because of Magnum chili dogs were a staple of my diet from my early teens well into my 20's.

Well, that's a start! But I think you'll find, Magnum ate regular Fig Newtons, and kept them in his little fridge. He ordered his eggs, over-easy, and his double cheeseburgers plain. There was one episode where he had frozen pizza, but mostly he had his pepperoni pizza delivered. and he popped his popcorn with a hot air popper. There's a lot more than this though! Aloha

Wasn't it a 'Burrito Machismo" from 'Macho Taco'?

...conspicuously absent is the ubiquitous plate lunch or saimin or sushi, which becomes standard fare on most anyone's table, they live here long enuff. Maybe Magnum was a perennial FOB... They sure didn't allow him any shakas or pidgin to slip in.

I remember one episode where he said "Howzit" to some guy, as in "Howzit Braddah", but that's about the only thing I can remember.

It was in The Curse of the King Kamehameha Club. I just watched it last week.

Like I said, you can always start with the basics! Hot dogs/chili dogs, pepperoni pizza, popcorn, take-out szechaun. He did eat sushi, with Dr. White Death! Steak, and a good bottle of wine. Or a 21oz T-bone, with potato skins! What was the name of the frozen pizza, whose contest he entered, and won a prize? Aloha

Got my back Styles. Thanks!

Does anyone else remember Magnum using any island colloquialisms?

Yeah, it was when Mag and TC stop at an inland store to ask some big scary looking Hawaiian dudes where he can find the Kahuna (can't remember his name). As the big guys get closer, Magnum chimes in with a "Howzit?" - rather than his typical "hi guys!"

I'm almost positive Magnum said "Hey, brah" at some point, but for the life of me I can't remember where or when!

But no, the Mag didn't break out the Pidgin very often. He grew up in Virginia and hasn't really been on the islands all that long. ;)

And what does all this have to do with food?
