This is too funny, because back in 2008, in the "Beauty Knows No Pain" thread, I was poking fun at the fact that Magnum was getting out of the water behind a "short, squat" lady (in the race). It now appears that this lady is Eve Anderson!

I have never noticed that shot. Hilarious!! Now i understand why Magnum always was beaten in the surfski race by the young girl

I don't think she has any children, but she does have nieces and nephews.
Hi Kenji,

I'm curious about her nieces & nephews...what did you find regarding them, please?

Thanks!

Hi Nancy, I am Reed Shepherd Glover a Great Grandson of Julia Edwina Shepherd, also the daughter of Edward S. Shepherd of Crerar Adams. There are three Julia Shepherd's in the family, so it does get confusing. You are referring to Julia Reed Shepherd who married John F. Cuneo. There is also just plain Julia Shepherd from the Shepherd lineage. Years ago, it took me a while to figure out the Shepherd family. I think that you are more interested in the Cuneo line, but I just thought that I would warn you.

Aloha, Reed

Here is Eve's Ironman (woman) time in 1980.........I'm not sure how many started the race, but it appears that only 2 woman finished with Eve being one of them....... http://www.slowtwitch.com/News/Top_Iron ... ve_58.html

Well, that settles it then. It's definitely Eve in the tree in "Tigers Fan". A professional coconut tree trimmer and ironman triathalete, wow! :o

Not sure if you've come across this but Eve is listed at the following business address (could be an old listing)
99-960 Iwaena St Aiea, HI 96701
the business at the address is the following: Pacific Gloves & Service LLC (pacificgloves.com)

The building is owned by the Queen Emma Land Company

I've also come across her private phone number. Would that be the number for the Estate? :o

Eve Glover Anderson

republican
Age: 62
Job: Community volunteer
Years here: 62
What are the unique qualifications you bring to this job?

I have worked on many community issues over the years. I attend meetings and seminars and insist on understanding the pros and cons of the issues. I work well with people, am very patient but persistent. With facts in hand, the proper solution is within reach.

What are the top three issues facing Hawaii (from most pressing to least)?

1) Government departments must review how they do the people's business and eliminate the waste, fraud, duplication of effort, poor planning and reform outdated regulations, inefficient procedures and work habits. 2) Elected officials must prepare legislation with the highest priority and require open debate on all issues. 3) Our leaders with community participation must put down on paper a plan of action-- a vision -- of projects ...

Are changes needed to the civil service system? If so, what are they?

Yes, the civil service system needs to be updated to meet today's requirements. Before changes are made, we need a "blue ribbon" committee to review the system, set priorities for change; hold several informational community meetings, and then draft the appropriate legislation.
