walker estate has ten trees claimed exceptional. that is ten times 3k every three years. yow. So. My mission should i choose to accept it; learn of all exceptional trees on the Cooke property. and if all and sundry concur, that it's the right thing to do... see how far this weird tax thang can go... in our application.

"sounds like a job for a Higgins run society " naaah. he would only push for trees of british provenance. This is a job for someone affiliated with the Hawaiian historical society, architecture of Old Hawaii, contact with kupuna of all strata of local culture.... an historian, a Hawaiian cultural documentarian, hmmm where to find....

:D I agree ... the Sandwich Islands Association of Anglo Hawaiian arborists :D

Mind you, the fella WAS active in a lot of obviously non only non-profit but even charitable organizations and quite knowledgeable in many fields - does that make him a cultural imperialist?

Sandwich Islands Association of Anglo Hawaiian arborists.
hahaaa.
anythings titled sandwich islands wouldn't be Hawaiian, (very haole term)
and anglo hawaiian... a self imploding title.
too funny.

Higgins will always be "a cultural imperialist"
is. was. evermore shall be. in perpetuity.
He is too damned stubborn and this, along with so many other things, will always keep him branded malihini and he would never become kama'aina. Too british. controlling. uptight. haole. dogmatic.
But that is what we love about him, of course.
