In the season 10 episode of HFO,"A Stranger in His Grave" a Hillerman episode, the estate was portrayed as a ranch.Complete with cane fields and an airstrip.

Notice how the passageway was used...Higgy on the red phone.

Hey Sam,

Did they happen to show any interior shots? When they used the estate in Hawaii Five-0 they usually used the actual interiors. They never did this in Magnum and they are rare indeed!

I seem to recall seeing a room that I thought was by the seawall, in the two-story section of the house where the lower part is covered in foliage. I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I've seen it.

Odd, hat image behind Hillerman with the red phone looks vaguely like the guest/boathouse!

Pahonu,

These are the only interior shots but I don't think they are from the estate.

Here are two caps of the extension off of the garage that is to the right off the passageway.

Here is a better shot of the picture behind Higgy, yeah,I can see the guesthouse in the first cap :)

This might be posted somewhere else, but I couldn't find it.... apologies if it is. Anyways in Don't Say Goodbye (1981) Magnum uses a pay phone and asks the operator to reverse the charges to his home phone number
555-2131 then he says to the operator Robin Masters, so I would say this is the guesthouse # for sure!

I agree, It doesn't seem to be the estate. The interior looks more like English Colonial Revival detailing. I was hoping for more shots of the elusive interior of Pahonu. Oh well. Funny about the guesthouse-like image behind Hillerman. Thanks for the pics Sam.

James, for the record. An establishing shot was shown in season 10, "When Does a War End?" The interior was somewhere else.

That's T.C. on the red phone: "Hey Higgie Baby, Is TM around?"
"Don't Higgie Baby Me, This is a private line. How did you get this number?'

Wow, fantastic to see John Hillerman in a HFO episode, a great show at the time which we used to really enjoy as kids. To this day my dear Mum is still in love with Jack Lord!

Am in Hawaii at the moment (Maui) and I understand that there wasnt any damage in that area. Actually damage was minimal in the islands and as they have a great tsunami warning system here as well as evacuation procedures.

Considering the estate is on the eastern (kinda southeastern) side of the island I would have been surprised if it DID sustain any damage.

What a tragedy. I feel bad for the people affected in Japan. Terrible.

TY Guys for all the info, I cannot believe that I´ve been 2 times in Ohau and never succeeded to find Robin´s nest. As I found out, I´ve been only one gate away, lol. The next time I will print out all the info you posted and eventually be more successful.

I wish there would be Magnum PI tours in Oahu! Also at the movie studios at Diamond Head, where they still have the old indoor sets, but wont let you in touring it.

There are still so many Magnum PI fans, that I think that Magnum PI location tours would be a huge success.

Is the smaller part of the house as viewed from the balcony the patio where Magnum and company have lunch in Novel Connection, or is it Higgins' study?
