Hi Rutledal,
You sussed it out, I didn't think anybody would get the answer. I did say I would send the person with the correct answer a copy of So You Want To Be a Detective by Luther Gillis. Since you live in Norway I assume you want the Norse edition?
Rutledal, how did you become a Magnum fan, was the series run in Norway? Was it dubbed or was it in English with sub-titles? I imagine the Hawaiian climate/culture was quite the contrast with your home and was a drawing point.
Do Norwegians ever wear Hawaiian shirts or is that strictly an American deal? I don't seem to recall any paintings of Viking raiders in Hawaiian shirts manning their long boats but it would have been stylish.
As for your 6 degrees of Magnum riddle. I looked up Typhoon the Baboon and it seems to be a Japanese cartoon. I am guessing one of the Japanese voice actors appeared on Magnum?
I know that doesn't qualify as an answer, that's one tough riddle, I don't think Lance White, Magnum, Artie Canoe, The Lads and Luther Gillis could figure this one out.

Typhoon the Baboon was in the movie Shakma with Roddy McDowell
Roddy McDowell was on Tales of the Gold Monkey with Jeff McKay
Jeff McKay played Mac on Magnum.

MacGyver used to go in reruns after school so I watched that, then Miamia Vice would go in reruns on Friday nights, but neither show really did it for me. Then I discovered this show called Magnum being aired at 2AM on week nights. So I started taping it and watching it after school, fell in love with it. It was in English, we don't really dub adult entertainment in Norway. So it was just a dorky mishap more than anything.

You have picked the correct Baboon, I did it this way:

Typhoon the Baboon was in the movie Shakma with Amanda Wyss
Amanda Wyss was in A Nightmare on Elm Street with John Saxon
John Saxon was on Magnum, P.I.

But I don't think it can be done in fewer.

Scarlett Johansson was in Scoop with Ian McShane
Ian McShane was on 2 episodes of Magnum

Unless you're going to tell me Scarlett Johansson was on Magnum that as short as it gets.

Julius Harris was in an episode of "Murder She Wrote" with Angela Lansbury.

Angela Lansbury was in an episode of "Magnum PI."

Too brief?

No, I was trying to use director Ivan Dixon as the link, but I picked too easy an actor. It could be done in a dozen two steps like that.

Ok:

Julius Harris was in "Nothing But a Man" with Ivan Dixon.

Ivan Dixon directed 13 episodes of Magnum PI.

That work, or did you have something else in mind? :higgins:

How about Ted Knight?

Hi Conch,
Truely you are the king of this game. Somewhere the proud Canadian Lorne Green is hoisting a Molsons and singing the McKenzie Brothers's theme song in your honor.
However, I think I got you with this next entry:
Eddie Albert from Green Acres(and you can't use Arnold the Pig when he guest starred as the main course in a luau on a Magnum episode).

Eddie Albert was in Brenda Starr with Henry Gibson
Henry Gibson was on an episode of Magnum.

Why thank you!

Eddie Albert was the star of the TV series Switch and Larry Manetti guest starred in one episode.
