My DVR tells me that Tom Selleck will also be a guest on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Monday, May 21 (CBS, 12:30 AM Eastern/11:30 PM Central)

Oh, and THIS must be a recent schedule addition, he'll also be on Late Night With Conan O'Brien tomorrow night -- that's Tuesday, May 15th, at 12:30/11:30 central time.

I tell myself that I do it only as a public service for everyone else, but that is a blatant lie.

I caught most of Selleck's appearance on Conan last night (I missed the very beginning). Conan brought out the hedious Magnum Costume and proceeded to put it on to hilarious effect! God, what an awful piece of merchandise that is, truly dreadful! Selleck said he actually endorsed the costume, although admitted that he never actually saw the final product before it was produced. Conan asked about the MPI movie rumors and casting. Selleck interestingly named Clooney and Pitt, but didn't mention McGaughey. He also again reiterated that he wasn't interested in doing a cameo, but added "unless they offer me a ton of money"! Oh, and Selleck also said he lost about 60 avocado trees during the recent California freeze.

Did they talk about Las Vegas at all? If they did, I missed it at the beginning.

No mention of Vegas, and it was mainly just small talk before they began discussing the costume. Selleck joked that the costume sounded like such a bad idea, he couldn't help but endorse it. When he mentioned he never received any money, I kept waiting for Conan to point out the obvious- that they probably haven't sold any yet.

When discussing the actors (and George Clooney), Selleck added, "To George's credit, he did come in second place." Conan asked who was first, to which Selleck just smiled and said, "I was."

John Stamos was the second guest, and Selleck hung around for his interview. Stamos admitted he doesn't like to do shirtless scenes because he is self-conscious about his bellybutton. When he was a child, doctors had to operate on him and did a poor job when stitching him up. As a result, the scar created a slight bump which Stamos described as "a little nose". (The skin on top kind've hangs over the bottom half.)

Obviously, Conan said he HAD to see it. This led to Selleck, Stamos, and Conan all standing up to bare their bellybuttons. Since Stamos' bellybutton did protrude out like a little nose, Selleck suggested they put the Magnum mustache (from the costume) under it, which they did.

As you can imagine, there was a lot of Magnum's trademark laugh during this entire sequence.

Hi,

since most of those interviews and stuff is not shown here on european television I'd like to ask whether someone has captured one or the other show and could make it available somehow (via YouTube or whatever). Or maybe it's even already online there and you could post a link? Would be really great since I am pretty much into everything related to TS!

Thanks for any help ...

Cheers,
Flounder

Give me a day or so, and I think I can either post something on YouTube or...if this site has the bandwidth and gives permission, a downloadable .avi file.

This is another option if you have a broadband connection and know about bittorrent - the whole show is here:

A downloadable file would be easier for some though.

I have an HD recording of this on my computer if anyone would care for a screenshot or two.

I think a screenshot of Conan wearing the "Magnum" costume is a must.
