These are the lists of episodes used for the opening credits of the 6th season. They used alternatively 2 versions differing in the 4th frame.

Nope, still get this (see below) guessing it has to do with where you're posting from?

Not a big deal, curiosity again :magnum:

I think I watched this season simply because I was addicted to MPI and couldn't quit. This one started dull with Deja Vu and got worse. No episode got a better rating than an 8.8. The season rating average was absolutely last out of eight seasons with a score of 7.9619. The Nielsen rating allegedly went to 48th! No babes, no A-list guest stars and Higgins coming up with a third look like half-brother was just a recipe for dismal. Only two of the episodes made it to the TOP 40: Stalking Horse at 22nd and Blood and Honor tied for 40th. There are very few memories here.

Déjà Vu was probably my favorite episode of the first five to sixth season. It's too bad that so many episodes weren't as good as this. I just wonder what the element involving TC in Morocco was necessary for the story....

Can someone explain why the episode Way of the Stalking Horse abandons discussion of the reasons why Theo Wolf killed the guy at the beginning of the episode and the relationship between that man and Driscoll who pretended to be Theo's son? It's all left out of the rest of the story.

To add minutes to a show too long for a one-parter and too short for a two-parter?

So Mosely could be in it?

Comic relief?

K Hale,
Perhaps it was awkward that they set an episode in England, bringing over the whole cast for a working vacation in one of the top 5 cities on the planet, but tell
Mosley he's not coming. They shoehorned Rick in, they could have done the same with TC.
To make amends they delete scenes and add Roger in a needless subplot that any kid with one class under his belt in Screenwriting 101 would have edited out.
Heck, the 7 or 8 England set episodes of Beverly Hillbillies found a way to bring Miss Jane over, so why not TC?
I always get a kick when Max Baer as Jethro is shown driving the Clampett truck loaded with his family around London, stopping at Buckingham Palace's gates in
front of jaw dropping locals and amused American tourists who must have thought they were in the Twilight Zone.

SEASON SIX MAGNUMOMETER SUMMARY

I finished my run through Season 6, and here are how the episodes stacked up on the Magnumometer:

Magnumometer Scores
8
6.11 Rapture
7
6.17 Way of the Stalking Horse
6.10 Blood and Honor
6.19 Who is Don Luis Higgins…
6
6.21 Photo Play
6.4 Kona Winds
5.5
6.5 The Hotel Dick
6.16 This Island Isn’t Big Enough
5
6.6 Round and Around
6.14 Mad Dogs and Englishmen
4.5
6.15 All Thieves on Deck:
4
6.18 Find Me A Rainbow
6.12 I Never Wanted to Go To France, Anyway…
6.9 The Treasure of Kalaniopu’u
6.3 Old Acquaintance
6.20 A Little Bit of Luck, A Little Bit of Grief
3
6.1 Déjà Vu
6.13 Summer School
6.7 Going Home
0
6.2 Déjà Vu
6.8 Paniolo

The average was 4.5. That compares with the following averages for previous seasons:
Season 5: 5.2
Season 4: 6.8
Season 3: 9.1
Season 2: 7.2
Season 1: 8.1

So, at least according to the Magnumometer, Season 6 is the worst season so far. Although as I’ve said before, I’m not sure the Magnumometer is actually a measurement of episode quality, and might actually be somewhat of a reverse indicator when it comes to quality, as it has turned out. Although there are exceptions, as Stalking Horse and Blood and Honor scored high on the Magnumometer and the episode voting.

Here’s how the episodes stacked up by the voting on the forum. The scores shown on the Episode Guide pages are out of date. The scores shown below have been recalculated based on the totals currently showing in the forum topic for each episode. (For reference, 7 = Average At Best, 7.5 = Decent, 8.0 = Pretty Good, 8.5 = Very Good and 9.0 Excellent)

Very Good
8.8
6.17 Way of the Stalking Horse

Pretty Good
8.4
6.10 Blood and Honor
8.3
6.7 Going Home
6.2 Déjà Vu
8.2
6.4 Kona Winds
6.19 Who is Don Luis Higgins
8.1
6.1 Déjà Vu
8.0
6.14 Mad Dogs and Englishmen
6.9 The Treasure of Kalaniopu’u

Decent
7.9
6.5 The Hotel Dick
6.11 Rapture
7.8
6.13 Summer School
6.15 All Thieves on Deck
7.7
6.6 Round and Around
6.18 Find Me A Rainbow
6.21 Photo Play
7.6
6.3 Old Acquaintance
7.5
6.12 I Never Wanted to Go To France, Anyway…
6.16 This Island Isn’t Big Enough

Average at Best
7.4
6.20 A Little Bit of Luck, A Little Bit of Grief
7.3
6.8 Paniolo

If you’re curious whether the scores have changed over time, they really haven’t. Below I’ve listed the current episode scores as recalculated by me, versus the ones still shown on the Episode Guide pages (in parentheses). As you can see, they haven’t changed much at all, despite the vote totals basically doubling. I’ve heard that the minimum sample size to get statistically valid figures was 30 – these numbers seem to bear that out, as the scores listed on the episode guide are based on 30-44 votes, and the current vote totals in the forum run from 67 to 89, and the average scores have barely moved. The largest change was .2 up or down, depending on the episode. 4 episode’s scores went up, 14 went down, and 3 stayed the same.

6.17 Way of the Stalking Horse: 8.8 - 88 votes (8.8 – 42 votes)
6.10 Blood and Honor: 8.4 – 75 votes (8.4 – 36 votes)
6.7 Going Home: 8.3 – 89 votes (8.3 - 36 votes)
6.2 Déjà vu: 8.3 – 75 votes (8.1 – 34 votes)
6.4 Kona Winds: 8.2 – 88 votes (8.3 – 42 votes)
6.19 Who is Don Luis Higgins: 8.2 – 83 votes (8.4 – 43 votes)
6.1 Déjà Vu: 8.1 – 82 votes (8.2 – 40 votes)
6.14 Mad Dogs and Englishmen: 8.0 – 85 votes (8.1 – 39 votes)
6.9 The Treasure of Kalaniopu’u: 8.0 – 82 votes (8.1 – 44 votes)
6.5 The Hotel Dick: 7.9 – 78 votes (8.0 – 37 votes)
6.11 Rapture: 7.9 – 76 votes (8.0 – 39 votes)
6.13 Summer School: 7.8 – 84 Votes (8.0 – 40 votes)
6.15 All Thieves on Deck: 7.8 – 71 votes (7.7 – 32 votes)
6.6 Round and Around: 7.7 – 73 votes (7.6 – 36 votes)
6.18 Find Me A Rainbow: 7.7 – 73 votes (7.9 – 41 votes)
6.21 Photo Play 7.7 – 71 votes (7.8 – 39 votes)
6.3 Old Acquaintance: 7.6 – 72 votes (7.8 – 34 votes)
6.12 I Never Wanted to Go To France, Anyway…: 7.5 – 71 votes (7.6 – 38 votes)
6.16 This Island Isn’t Big Enough: 7.5 – 71 votes (7.3 – 30 votes)
6.20 A Little Bit of Luck, A Little Bit of Grief: 7.4 – 67 votes (7.3 – 34 votes)
6.8 Paniolo: 7.3 – 79 votes (7.5 – 42 votes)

Season 6 Summary

There weren't a lot of 4th wall breaks this season, but Thomas wore an Aloha Shirt in 16 of 21 episodes and The Tigers Cap appeared in 13 episodes. Thomas said “I know what you’re thinking” 12 times, and “I know, I know, I was thinking it too” once. Thomas preferred private investigator 5 times in Season 6, but once he actually preferred “detective” and 3 times he failed to correct someone dropping a “p.i.” on him! Thomas continued to hear his little voice and engage in fisticuffs and gun play. T.C. was seen less often in Island Hoppers gear than in prior seasons, and Higgins was far more restrained in his storytelling and in his organizations and societies than in the past. But overall, it was still a quite enjoyable season, with many great OMG moments, and no shortage of Higgins (and others) taking the piss out of Magnum .
