Some nice make up on the dead Irish chap in this one.

Hilarious to see the pledge drive go from $53 to $55 in the last scene too :)

 Admittedly, someone dead six months, unless exceptional conditions preserved him, would look far worse than shown in the episode. :P

Some minor trivia: Samantha Eggar and Kenneth Mars previously guest-starred in the Columbo episode "The Bye-Bye Sky High I.Q. Murder Case", although they never interacted onscreen. :P

It also never was explained why the newspaper's printing the wrong picture would cause Higgins to not have any acts for the benefit. I just couldn't understand how that connected.

He didn't have any acts because none of the ones who showed up were any good. The fact that the paper made it sound like Magnum was the one in charge of choosing the acts attracted freak show type people instead of whatever Higgins had in mind for the benefit. As Higgins put it, "Your face is attracting the most unusual talent." So in the end it came down to Agatha reading poetry. I do wish a little more had been done with the denouement of the B plot in this one.

Fav part:
"You wouldn't know a trisected paolo worm if it bit you!"
"THEY BITE???"
