Here's a flub of sorts..........have'nt seen it mentioned so here goes;

When Magnum leaves Agatha Kimball's house (can't remember if it's after the 1st or 2nd visit) it appears that TC's Island Hoppers van is parked outside. You can see the color scheme in a brief blur behind Magnum as he drives past.

Here's a screenshot, it's seen just after 24 minutes in:

They must have used the van in some capacity other than for shots with TC, (hauling people or equipment?) as it's also seen in Rapture (6.11)...

We have to see an episode many times of course!

-The first time is for a global idea (locations, actors....)
-The second time is for the plot, trying to understand the general writting and the conclusions
-The third time is for catching the flubs and the minor aspects

Nope, the first and the second time is for watching Tom Selleck in action, the third is for the plot.....

He also had a small role in "Past Tense".

Maybe I should start a new page for the site, "Shocking Trivia"!

Here is another one for the list.

Mob, Murder and Magnum, P.I.: It's the biggest mob murder trial in U.S. history. In Chicago last week, three members of the Chicago mob and former Chicago policeman went on trial for 18 murders, including the notorious beating death of fellow mobsters Anthony "The Ant" Spilotro and his brother Michael, found buried in a cornfield.

The film "Casino" includes a movie version of the murder. Dedicated viewers of "Magnum, P.I." saw Michael Spilotro in a 1981 episode titled "Thicker Than Blood." Ironically, he played a federal agent.

Spilotro was a friend of Magnum co-star, Larry Manetti. "I didn't know Michael as a gangster," Manetti told the Chicago Tribune. "I knew him as a guy I grew up with in the neighborhood. Michael wanted to be on TV, that's all."
Isn't that funny? I was just writing about Anthony Spilatro today! I was writing an essay for one of my classes (recently went back to college) and was putting in personal info for the paper that I grew up in Vegas and went to the neighboring high school of the Spilatro kids. They were quite infamous! I'm pretty sure he died a few years before I knew he had kids the same age as me. I sure remember when he was murdered though. He was crazy famous back in the day.

Larry has some interesting friends!

I remember when i saw Ted Danson on an episode of David Letterman or maybe it was Conan O´Brian where two clips from this episode were shown. One when Ted swings at Tom and Tom just blocks it like som kid threw the punch :D
The other one is the ending on the boat where you easily can see the bald spot

I liked this episode. I can remember seeing this one on A&E. At about the 13 minute mark I think I saw the GMC Jimmy pulling out of a side road. Anybody see it?

Watched this episode totally at random last night. What a very well done, touching episode. I wonder what the relationship between TM and Amy/Carol was really all about? Another lost love for TM maybe?

Good eye Mozambique_patt. :)

Here's the shot:

And the GMC Jimmy in The Ugliest Dog in Hawaii - 1.8, to compare:

Does anyone know if that paint scheme came as an option from the factory, or if it was unique to Magnum P.I.?

This is an excellent episode from first season, and I love watching it everytime! :) The plot is good and everyone gives awesome performances--especially Mercedes McCambridge! I love the beginning when Higgins is mad at Magnum because he thinks this slutty woman is giving perverted phone calls on Robin Masters' line...when it's really Agatha being funny!

Maybe this has already been mentioned here (as I did not read every single post with this episode) but I'm almost positive that Mercedes McCambridge is who provided the evil demon voice for the possessed 'Reagan MacNeil' (Linda Blair) in the 1973 blockbuster hit "The Exorcist"! :o
"It was more ironic than a Robin Masters novel--she thought he was dead, he thought she was dead...and only the chauffeur knew the truth! He should have been the butler!" "Lest We Forget"
