Hugh Laurie (House, M.D.) as Higgins?

#1 Post by Coops »

I am a huge fan of the show, House, M.D. (or just House) and was startled that I hadn't thought about Hugh Laurie as Higgins in the new movie (that is if we don't get an 'all-original' cast movie, which would be my overwhelming support) before. He's a fantastic British actor who's a fine balance of drama and comedy. At least he's far more believable in the role than William H. Macy would be.

What do you guys think?

I think Hugh Laurie would be terrific as Higgins! I also think Anthony Hopkins would be good as Higgins also... :D

I think Sir Anthony would be a fine pick, if maybe a little too old. But then again you could say Laurie is a bit too young!

Maybe he is too tall. I always liked that difference in height between Magnum and Higgins and in scenes where Higgins shouts at Magnum and demands the keys of the Ferrari etc, he just HAS to look up at him. Can`t picture it otherways.

Hah!! Hugh Laurie is nearly as tall as Tom Selleck, about the same height as Roger E. Mosley, I never saw him "looking up" at him :!: :!: :P

Hoskins would be awesome! It's a shame Ricky Gervais isn't 30 years older....

I really like the Michael Caine suggestion. His "prissy-ness" in "Miss Congeniality" brings his Brit-ness and his humor to the forefront. Okay, the height and the weight aren't right, but his talent could carry it off, I think.

Okay, if I can't have Alan Rickman, I'll be okay with Michael Caine. He certainly could tell the military stories . . . .

It sort of makes me wonder who would be the voice of Robin Masters? Kelsey Grammer? He has a really rich, dramatic voice.

Don't you hate it when someone has your idea before you do? I was all proud of myself for thinking of Bob Hoskins and, what do you know, SelleckLover is all "been there, done that"!!!!

Oh well, great minds!!!!!
