I also have plans to get a couple brown & black goats and call them "the lads". I even considered getting a couple brown pigs and call them "the pig lads", but then it would get a bit confusing having "Pig Zeus" and "Pig Apollo" and having everybody patrol at once.
That's baaaaaaaad.

The only real clunker I have noted on the Boards I have read to date was that poor soul who presented himself as some sort of militant Hawaiian Nationalist but turned out to be a white guy from California. Kind of his own modern take on when people used to perform in Blackface.
Even in his absence, Kimo will live forever to us long-timers....

Those were some crazy times.

Oh my, hahaha, I have noticed that dude. I thought he was too ridiculous to be for real and I was right...

Concur that folks here seem very nice. It's also apparently politics free if perhaps one stays out of one or two threads in particular. Long may it be so.

My name? First initial and last name.

Hi Rick,
I did the same as you, lurked for awhile before joining up. Ricky, by any chance does your last name also start with an "R" and are you a Cuban bandleader married to a
wacky redhead in NYC?

Hi Dobie. My last name does begin with R, but I live in California and I am married to a wacky half Hawaiian girl!

My screen name is derived from the comic book fan in me, Batman being one of my favorite superheroes. Some might think the 22 is a play on catch-22 but I was long ignorant of the expression. One of the earliest comic books I remember reading was BATMAN 440 (1989), which also introduced me to Two-Face. So there's that villain's numerical fixation plus the VHS of Bat*21 on my parents' film shelves which I never really watched growing up.

I always thought your username was based on the (fairly obscure) Gene Hackman Vietnam war movie, Bat 21. Since 1990, I've had an old videotape of Dead Ringers which has a preview of Bat 21. It took me another 27 years to actually watch Bat 21. I think the preview was better than the movie.

Damn it - I only now just realized that I should have chosen the name "Mad Kudu Buck Green". (Mad Buck, Kudu Buck, Buck Green)

Buck!

Edit: Ah... there we go. I'm now green. Image

It's not easy being green - back to normal.

My screen name is based on 3 things, 2 of which I will post here.

1- I am very patriotic
2- I am a big fan of NASA's Apollo project, and "Eagle" is the name of the first lunar lander to land

The other is a college joke, and is not appropriate for this forum.

Hi Eagle,
The landing gear on the lunar module was partially designed by my uncle Wes.
He was visiting the plant that made the "legs" along with some other engineers on his team, before one part was rolled into shape, they all inscribed their names on it,
the writing then winding up on the inside.
It would have cost them their jobs if NASA had known, no funny business was allowed on any aspect of the project.
Neil Armstrong and crew weren't allowed to bring anything non approved on board, for instance coins & stamps especially.
If they had brought sheets of stamps onto the moon and back they would have been priceless.
Exactly why they would be priceless I don't get, other than as objects being on that trip, I know nothing of stamp collecting.

Hi Eagle,
The landing gear on the lunar module was designed largely by my uncle Wes, no kidding.
That's very cool. I grew up in Huntsville AL and Cape Canaveral FL, and it was really fun being in Florida and getting to watch so many rocket launches. It affected my career (engineering) and my way of thinking (failure is not an option).
