I love JAWS, one of my all time favorites movies and the only book, that once I started, I read it non-stop to the finish through the night.
I have a hard time labeling it horror though. The Thing crossed my mind as well, both the original and the remake, as well as THEM!, but these guys I also don't know if I classify them as horror.
John Carpenter's The Thing almost made the list anyway.

Yeah, the book is awesome. I totally didn't expect it to be!ConchRepublican wrote:I love JAWS, one of my all time favorites movies and the only book, that once I started, I read it non-stop to the finish through the night.
"How fiendishly deceptive of you Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent."

TCM aired Alien last night. Hadn't seen it in a LONG time. What a great movie! Even better than I remembered it. The tension and suspense just never let up; near perfect pacing. The dark, claustrophobic sets and Ridley Scott's camera work are just masterful. It was great to see it again!
Conch, my The Thing was Carpenter's, which is much better than the original IMHO.

Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!
THE WAR OF THE WORLDS (radio version).
It was made into a movie, but the radio version scared the crap out of many people, as they thought there was a real invasion going on.
It was performed as a Halloween episode on Oct. 30 1938 and it was directed and narrated by none other than Orson Welles (aka ROBIN MASTERS).
