I'm not sure I could list a definitive five as they are always changing. Horror is my favorite genre.

I have to say though, Jaws would definitely be on my list as well. I think it's absolute perfection!

Maybe:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Friday the 13th Part 2
Profondo Russo (sublime Italian horror)
Killer Party (silly horror comedy that makes me smile)...

But I'm sure I could change these in a second!

The Haunting
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Halloween
The Shining
The Thing
Alien
Evil Dead II
Dead Alive
The Silence of the Lambs
Hostel

Jaws would be on my list, but I don't really consider it a horror movie. It's really more of a thriller, but I know a lot of people classify it as horror.

I was already obsessed with sharks when Jaws came out (and I was, like, five years old!), but it really ignited something in me. I've been in love with them every since and have even been in a shark cage when I went to Hawaii a few years ago.

I agree that you classify it as a thriller, but there's some great people munching to be had! :) Also, I adore Jaws 2 because it's like a slasher but the unstoppable killer is a shark! Kind of brilliant!

The Haunting is terrific!

I see a common theme here Jaws, That is awesome, I stop like the Jaws movies after the 3rd one to me it kinda got out of hand, But Jaws 3-D was awesome with those blue and red glasses lol

I love JAWS, one of my all time favorites movies and the only book, that once I started, I read it non-stop to the finish through the night.

I have a hard time labeling it horror though. The Thing crossed my mind as well, both the original and the remake, as well as THEM!, but these guys I also don't know if I classify them as horror.

John Carpenter's The Thing almost made the list anyway.

Yeah, the book is awesome. I totally didn't expect it to be!

Read "Jurassic park" I read that when I was a kid and it was pretty scary. Also much more R rated than the movie, it made the movie seem pretty lame.
