Did anyone else spot the Magnum Tiki Mug? I did. He's right next to the 'Pete's Tiki Bar' sign. Nothing "Magnum" slips by me, fellas. :)

Just spotted a Magnum Tiki Mug on eBay if anyone's interested :D ... https://www.ebay.com/itm/MAGNUM-PI-Tiki ... 2516.l5255

Hey Peter,

You need to stock some of this Russian vodka behind the bar right next to your Magnum mug  ......

By the way, Peter, when did you fall in love with Key West? Relatively few people outside Floridians (and even many of them) have a clue the association and back story RE: The Conch Republic.

Surprisingly, on my last trip to KW in 2011, it was tough to find a shirt with the actual logo/flag emblazoned on it.

Kudos on the oasis!!!

I have always been intrigued by "the end of the road" and who winds up there. We finally got to the Keys New Years 2003/4. We stayed in Key Largo, which is my wife's fave place (http://snooks.com/) and did a day trip to Key West which wasn't the best idea (traffic, etc.) but we got back in 2006 and were hooked.

A tiki bar just wouldn't work in Canada. Well, maybe it might be believable in July or August, but somehow it wouldn't feel right sitting back in a wicker chair with a tropical drink in the middle of January with -20 degree wind chill and 2 feet of snow.

Every time I see the title of this thread, I think of the Chinese guy in The Sand Pebbles, saying "My tikee wrench! My tikee wrench!"

"My tiki bar! My tiki bar!"

There is somebody peaking out of the window there in that pic. Do you see that?... Just kidding! :)

Your backyard is an absolute oasis in the Big Apple! I swear on my mother's ashes that I will visit it someday! Amazing piece of work you've carved out there in the concrete jungle! Kudos! :)

You had me looking JJ and, I actually DID find some . . . thing in one of the windows! It seems my neighbor behind me to the left has a cat looking out the window!

Thanks again for the kind words. Mrs. Conch and I are looking forward to the time we can have a Magnum Maniac Summit. Her idea for the MiniMag premiere was interesting, but I don't see a Monday night being the best time for it. As for Flemingo Key it's is a labor of love going on 10 years now. The AfterDeck was powerwashed and sealed a couple of weeks ago, and new palms we put on the roof of the bar. New palms for the tiki hut (The Butterfly Lounge is it's official moniker, or Pulelehua in Hawai'ian) roof are being added this week and the bartop will be sanded and varnished again as well. A small dinner with my cousin is on the schedule for this weekend and a big Client Event is on the calendar for 6/30. Full menu:

from the smoker
- Flemingo Key spice rubbed ribs
- the bacon wrapped stuffed sausage fatty

from the grill
- skirt steak
- jerk chicken
- cedar plank maple crusted salmon
- arparagus and portobello mushrooms
- garlic bread

from the kitchen
- Aunt Julia's Old Country Lasagna w/ meatballs & sauce
- Granny's Bavarian Sauerbraten & kartoffelkloesse

That's the BIG ONE for the season, there's Flemingo Key swag and everything.

Finally recuperated from the Flemingo Key client shindig this past Saturday and Wednesday's little get together. Well, maybe not recuperated yet, but on the mend! Things went well and everyone enjoyed this year's swag. It was a Hurricane theme . . . since last year my hurricanes were the hit drink of the party. Swag bag included hurricane essentials - a Flemingo Key logo umbrella, a Margaritaville candle for when the lights go out and . . . a Flemingo Key logo pitcher and hurricane glasses, with the drink recipe included! I don't have actual pics, but here's the proof (I know, that's a Blue Hawaiian, not a Hurricane) . . .

Here's the menu:

I always get stressed out before the party, I need to be on the top of my game and always want things to go perfectly. Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the summer . . .
