Wow, Conch, wow! I wish I had you as a neighbor. :)

Is that a picture of Ernest Hemingway flipping the bird?

Any plans to add an Enchanted Tiki Room to compliment the Tiki Bar?

I havn't been to Disney in decades, but that was always one of my favorites.

Thanks J.J.!

I was hoping to pull together a Magnum Mania Meetup at the Key this year but things didn't work out the way I had hoped. Maybe we can swing a little something for those up for it next season.

Yes, that is Crazy Uncle Ernie flipping the bird. I got that in Key West over New Years from an artist selling in the back of Blue Heaven. Best breakfast place in the Keys. A few years ago we ran into the country artists Joey+Rory and James Slater there after their Christmas show the night before. Very cool people and one of our fave places.

Aside from being a Keys fanatic I'm also a big Disney fan. The Enchanted Tiki Room Music (original and Under New Management versions) are on a background playlist loop. ;-)

Very cool, Conch! Again, your Tiki Bar Backyard is just incredible!

You should set up something like this for your guests...

Fun for all, and you could make a little cash on the side. I still LOVE the Brady Bunch! And that scares me a little. :)

"Next season" is here! If the Keys are out of reach perhaps a meetup at Fort Lauderdale's legendary (and Tiki shrine) Mai Kai would be in order? If not this year, maybe next...

Can't believe they sold those! Didn't they bring bad luck?

Hey Conch,

I found this great site that has a terrific forum thread on member's tiki bars.....lots of before and after pics, great ideas etc......
You need to put your establishment in the mix!
This site also has some terrific threads that discuss the Queen's Surf.....Sterling Mossman etc....it's worth a look.

Enjoy!

Hey Conch/all, anyone ever heard of the Tikiyaki Orchestra? I have a couple of their CDs & they're really fun. Here's one that I have, "Aloha Baby"...it even came with a little cocktail umbrella in the spine of the jewel case. Great tiki party music! https://www.amazon.com/Aloha-Baby-Tikiy ... s=tikiyaki

By the way, has anyone been to the Mai-Kai in Florida http://maikai.com/? If so, what did you think? I've never been so just curious.

If you are a Tiki enthusiast then the Mai-Kai is NOT to be missed! Luckily, I live about ten miles from it, so I more than get my fill though I usually go to celebrate special occasions. They have a great bar with drink and appetizer specials and the atmosphere is wonderful. I generally can't stand nightclubs and bars, but the Mai-Kai is the exception.

Very cool, LG! When I started reading your comment I thought you were going to say it's a lousy tourist trap. They must have something good going to still be doing things right after all these years! Thanks for the feedback!

Hey Little Garwood, I'm 13 miles away from the Mai Kai. Small world.
