Anybody familiar with his show "Switch"? It starred Robert Wagner and Eddie Albert and ran for three seasons, but I've never heard of it before today.

Sad news. Mr. Larson was responsible for many classic TV shows. RIP.

Never heard of Switch either. Man, how many shows has Robert Wagner been in? Would love to see it someday, as I see it also had Sharon Gless, James Hong and Anne Archer in it! Apparently it started out as an adventure series and then morphed into a crime drama.

Switch was a good show! We always watched it! Don't forget Charlie Callas! And if you don't know him, check out youtube!

I'm watching the pilot episode of Switch right now. Guess who just showed up:

It was good. Good cast. Good plot. My only complaint was the cheesy score in the lighter scenes. If something isn't funny, playing "funny" isn't going to make it that way.

Worth checking out.

Not to speak ill of the dead, Larson was from my home town of Long Beach after all, but hasn't it been established that he didn't have anything to do with the show after the pilot? Again, not that this subtracts from his many other hit shows. Am I remembering this wrong? JJ???

That's right. Larson wrote the original Magnum P.I. script (which had Magnum as a stereotypical "macho man" type character working for the CIA). At Selleck's urging, Bellisario was brought in who reworked the script, combining elements from one of his scripts called "H.H. Flynn". Larson didn't do anything else with the show after that initial script. It was all Bellisario and Selleck. Still, he's a co-creator of the show.

It's coming back to me. Wasn't Larson's script originally called Cutter and set in Los Angeles? Or was that H.H. Flynn that was set there? Also, Larson wasn't even involved in filming the pilot? It was all Bellisario working from Larson's modified script? I wonder how much money Larson made as co-creator even though he only contributed the first script.
