Tina Machado does have a credit for a Magnum episode. "Straight and Narrow." She plays a bartender.

She also has a credited role in a movie called "Aloha Summer." I'll see if I can find that one.

It's odd that she only receives a credit in an episode where she doesn't even face the screen. (unless there was a scene that i missed.)

I skipped through "Aloha Summer" and it looks like she only had two lines. One was her whispering "hi." And the other was over dubbed by someone with a Southern accent!

Thanks MPIinstitute

Were you aware of her involvement with the show back in the 80's?

Hi MPInstitute,

Well done in solving the Lady X cold case!
Without your inside knowledge about Tina, she would be Lady X forever!!
Do you still live in Hawaii?

Great finds too Sam......she has aged very well. The photo with Tina and her son doing karate firms it up for me. I can see the resemblance from the show in that shot. You don't want to get her mad with a background in karate!!

Tina's title as Miss Hawaii appears to have been very short lived or not!

This one shows her as a semi finalist in the 1985 Miss USA Pageant. You will have to fill us in MPInstitute, maybe the lawsuit she filed made them cave.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXd86jKs9-M Go to 2:56 to see her.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcC8aaqhswQ Go to 3:28 to see her.

**** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxELsPTxVJY Go to 4:52 to hear her. This is the most we've heard her speak......listen to her answer!!

If my math is correct she will be 56 in November 2015.

Tina's mom died just last year and one of her brothers that MPInstitute mentioned passed away before Marie. It appears Tina named her son after this brother.

How does someone's IMDB page get updated? It seems a shame that she isn't credited for these episodes.

Kenji. Yes born n raised in Hawaii and still live here. She should be. 53yo now. Her second Miss Hawaii reign ended early because i believe she was too old at 25? Im not sure because i was in the military at the time. I played football with her younger brother Michael. Her older brother Jesse died while on leave in Hawaii. He was in the air force and a vietnam vet.

She would only have been credited if she had a line or more of dialogue. Otherwise she would have been considered "atmosphere" also known as an extra, with no screen credit. It makes sense according to SAG rules.

Thanks for the info MPInstitute!
As for her age....I went off one of the articles posted in Feb.1985 that states she was 25 then and her birthday is supposedly in November which would make her 26 by the end of 1985........fast forward 29 years and she will be 55 next month and 56 next year (2015). If you say she is 53yr, she is 53....you know her better than any of us. She look still looks great either way. You make an interesting point about her second Miss Hawaii reign which is news to me and might explain a few things.

Off topic.....sorry to hear about your fellow Hawaiians on the Big Island who are about to lose their houses to the lava. I went there earlier this year and it was barely moving, but still VERY HOT!
