Hey guys. I recall in echoes of the mind, at one stage higgins is in the study browsing through photo albums, under candle light. There is a really nice song playing. Does anybody know the name of this song?
Answers appreciated as I really liked the song! :)

That was discussed in the forum for Echoes of the Mind (1) (5.1). The song is Bless ’Em All, written during World War I.

Well, I was going to create a new topic for this, so I'm glad I found this one.

I absolutely adored that song and have done a lot of searching on it. It is indeed called "Bless 'Em All" but the version we hear Higgins playing is not the version that is easy to find. The lyrics are entirely different. The original "Bless 'Em All" is about men going home on a troop ship and is usually sung as a jaunty tune or drinking song, but the one in this episode is about womens' affection for men in general and is performed like a warm ballad. The two versions really have almost nothing in common.

There are many covers of "Bless 'Em All" available on iTunes and YouTube but none of them that I have found are the Higgins version, so to speak. Singer Vera Lynn does a wonderful cover of it that is easy to find, and she also sings the tear-jerking "We'll Meet Again" that we hear at the end of "Deja Vu 2."

Original version:
They say there's a troopship just leaving Bombay, bound for old Blighty's shore
Heavily laden with time expired men, bound for the land they adore.
There's many an airman just finishing his time, there's many a twerp signing on.
You'll get no promotion this side of the ocean, so cheer up my lads, bless 'em all.
Bless em all, bless em all, the long and the short and the tall
Bless all the sergeants and w. o. ones,
Bless all the corp'rals and their blinkin sons,
'Cause we're saying goodbye to them all, as back to their billets they crawl
You'll get no promotion this side of the ocean, so cheer up my lads, bless 'em all

But Higgins' version goes like this:
Bless 'em all, bless 'em all
The long the short and the tall,
Bless all the poor guys and those with the jack,
Fact is we love every wolf in the pack.
Oh we’ve got our hooks out for them all,
We’re always at home when they call,
They make our hearts tingle, they wanna stay single,
But nevertheless, bless em all.

I absolutely cannot find this version anywhere. :?

https://youtu.be/Gy9SrP8AEmM It's not the version from the show, but it is the lyrics! Starts about 4:13!

Hey, I found another one by Jane Morgan, with a third verse! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xw2UPs3ZQg

And Debbie Reynolds, a bit different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE4R1xNqykM

And this is the military version but it deserves to be seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyiEB4zANsE
