This is the new softer Magnum who talks about his feelings and cries every other episode blehhh. I dont mind a non white actor but i really wanted to see a mans man, somebody who is macho and sensitive at the same time, the type of guy women want and men want to be and well, that aint him. Oh well my hopes for it to be Joe Manganiello are dashed.
That reminds me of the time....

I don't know what I want to say about this.

My first thought it that I never made it through more than half of one of the episodes of the Hawaii Five O reboot, so I don't think this Magnum reboot can satiate my Magnum appetite. I'm trying so hard to have faith in this project and I will be ecstatic if my predictions are wrong.

When it comes down to it, I really just want to see the original cast (the ones who are left) come back. I really want to see Selleck play the irrepressible role that made him a household name. I've said it before that Magnum has stood out from all of Selleck's other roles for whatever reason. I've never been able to put finger on it. Anytime I watch Selleck, I hope to see some semblance of Magnum sneak out. Maybe it does and I just don't seem to catch it or maybe I just want more of Magnum, either way, to see Selleck reprise his role as Magnum would really bring it full circle for me.

The PI genre is not really a thing much anymore and hasn't been since the 80s. Therefore, I suspect this show is going to be dramatically different from the original. I can see plotlines that are more at home in police dramas than the kind of show that Magnum was.

Nope. I'm not interested in this new show at all. I expected CBS to blow it.

Conch, since it actually looks like this thing is a go, it might make sense to start a new forum for it like there is for Jesse Stone.
You mean I can't keep ignoring it and hoping it will go away?

I think ignoring it is the way to go.

The way I see it, there will be fans of the new show (if it makes it past the pilot stage) and they will likely congregate here. After all, it’s “For all things Magnum P.I.”

At least that way if you hate it, you don’t need to even hear about it.

Are you sure they are going to call it, "Magnum P.I. ?

Ok, my mind is officially blown! I had not heard about this at all! But I've been out of touch for a while. Jay Hernandez? The only memory I have of him is being tortured (and enacting some killer revenge) in Hostel. MI6 agent Juliet Higgins? I like the idea of it being on CBS. Seems appropriate. I need a while for my mind to process this.
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!

If Thomas and Michelle had a son would he look like Mr. Hernandez? Could have been an entire new plot line that Michelle had twins and the son was taken away before she came out of surgery during birth. This could add the possibility of the original cast making appearances including Selleck and bringing in a much asked for Lily character. Thomas Sullivan Magnum V...............

No it won't. And as someone else already mentioned, Hollyweird doesn't seem to have any more manly men left. Man, I miss the 80s.
