I get nostalgic when poking around YouTube and sometimes will watch old TV commercials.

Normally nothing worth sharing - but this bit is worth sharing here!

I actually remember this old commercial (it played on my local station, not 12, but they just stuck whatever station on these and shared them across the country, so) a good chance if you watched TV back then, you will remember this one.

I love watching commercials from my childhood too. What does that say about how commercialized our society has become that that's our nostalgia? I wonder why it was on NBC when Magnum was broadcast on CBS?

That NBC station was probably showing the reruns, might have even been a COZI channel.........

I was under the impression from the OP and from watching the video itself that the commercial was made in the 1980s. That would be while Magnum was in first run broadcast on CBS (and many years before COZI was a thing). I know MPI was syndicated in 1983, but It would be surprising to me if an NBC affiliate would be airing syndicated reruns of rival network CBS's show that was still first run on their prime time schedule. But, stranger things have happened, I guess.

I took it as a commercial from a syndicated run from the 90s, it seemed a little too "cute" for a primetime run commercial.

This is the CBS promo campaign (that included Magnum) that I remember vividly from 1983. I was about 7 years old when it came out, but the song stayed stuck in my head for 3 decades before I found it again on Youtube.

Cool, I don't remember any of those commercials but it was nice to see what other CBS shows were on at that time in history. I thought the "You and CBS" jingle sounded like Randy Newman singing but in the comments someone said it was Richie Havens...Wow, his Here Comes The Sun from Woodstock is still one of my favorite covers of all time....
