Magnum Mania!

After many years of waiting there is a good chance that MPI may get released on Blu Ray! This has not been confirmed as yet, but given that Miami Vice is about to get a BR release, it's likely, or should I say hopeful that MPI will get the same!

The DVD's are beginning to look really pretty poor now and a BR release would be so welcome. There won't be any issues of image quality as the show was shot on film (not video) so the transfer would be sublime!

Hope that they've remastered the episodes and will soon come up with Magnum PI.

If they remaster them, I am sure that they'll do it in 4k

Wow, this would be so awesome. I agree about the DVD quality... it's pretty poor. A BR release would be welcome.

I like to hope that the folks putting a blue-ray set together might take the time to really put something special together to celebrate a release on blue-ray. Seems it would be a great opportunity to gather the cast together as best as possible to offer a little commentary and reflection about the show's run. I would certainly purchase a "collectors'" set with some really nice extras included in the packaging. Would absolutely hope that the powers that be wouldn't rush it and do something "half-hearted." Give the fans something! Say, I think it would be cool if there was team insignia ring with the blue-rays. That kind of stuff. And I do like to imagine how the Hawaiian landscape of Magnum might pop on blue-ray.

I agree that some commentary from the cast would be awesome! Most of the die hard fans already have the DVDs, so they ought to add a little something to the blu-ray release to entice anybody that might be on the fence about buying the show again.

I also hope they improve the color. Thomas looks like he has a fever most of the time on the DVDs.

Someone should write to Larry and ask him about the commentary. He would surely let us know if he's been contacted.

I sent Larry a message on FB, let's see if he responds.

That is what I am really waiting for, let's get some commentary from any of the cast, directors and producers they can get to cooperate.
