Welcome to the forum!

It truly is breathtaking video. Glad to see that the company is paying hommage to the series with using that helicopter. Has anybody taken a tour with that MD500?

I might have been the first one on the forum to fly in their MD500, but a fair few here have done so now.
I think someone even posted a video of their tour?

Thanks for posting, that was fun, I'll watch it again.

They had to have used at least two helicopters to catch this footage.

Hi Guys,

Just got back from another trip to paradise and was talking with one of the guys from Paradise Helicopters who was in the middle of flushing the system with fresh water to combat against the salt water issues over there. He was actually having problems with the ignition at that time. Overall he is really happy with the chopper, but like any machine it acts up once in a while. The next day I saw it up in the air 4 times (once over Pahonu) so he must've found the gremlins! He also told me it cost around $1,200,000 and the engine is worth around $300,000. A very nice guy, who took the time to close all the doors on the chopper so I could get a few pics.

Hi Kenji

Interesting post re the chopper. Thanks for sharing. BTW was he using a large mallet (hammer) to fix the ignition. It seemed to be T.C.'s tool for every problem unless he needed a wrench to wave in Magnum's face.

Hi Kimbosan,

I remember Larry mentioning in his book that Roger took lessons so he could learn to fly a helicopter like his character, T.C. He also mentioned that Roger became very proficient at handling the choppers, BUT the insurance company still wouldn't let Roger fly during the series. Larry wouldn't fly with him because he was already scared to death of flying. I guess Paradise felt comfortable with him flying the chopper.....maybe it was just for a few seconds, but long enough to say Roger flew the chopper which would be good for their business. It might be a great follow up question for Paradise. How long did Roger actually fly the chopper ( the whole flight, 1 minute, 5 minutes etc.)?

You can see Roger pretty clearly through the open door starting at the 0:07 mark. He's wearing a maroon shirt - not clear if its the maroon island hoppers shirt he wears at appearances sometimes, but probably.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, but it fits perfectly in this thread.
Anyway, I just found this video of a MPI fan or fans (maybe one of us???) enjoying a flight with Paradise.
The footage of Pahonu was disappointing though.....maybe he put down the video camera at that point and picked up the Nikon.
Looking forward to your upcoming video Conch!

This is an awesome video. When I first saw it, it brought a tear to my eye. Most of the old spots are visited and TC is actually in the helicopter! The music is great too.
