You have some Polish background Conch?

You sound like my grandfather when asked about our last name. Literally made me laugh out loud thinking about it.

(My work mates are looking at me like I'm a lunatic.. but then again, that's nothing new!)

Um, how do you know that is Eve? I could be wrong, but it doesn't really look like her.

Hi JJ,

Here's the black & white photo from the original post about this, which shows her as a young lady for comparison. She's the girl/young lady at the bottom. This photo is from this webpage about 2/3 of the way down...http://wai-kikiroughwaterswimhistory.com/cotton.html. Also if you watch the episode again you'll see a lot more of her...maybe it's that particular screen cap that doesn't look right to you.

Hi guys,

And here's more supporting information about Eve Anderson competing in the Ironman Triathlon on Oahu...scroll down to the second story "All Women Need Is An Opportunity" http://archives.starbulletin.com/2002/0 ... tory3.html

Go Eve! :D

Has anyone seen Eve close up?
We know Manetti is 5' 7" with his lifts.Looking at the picture it would appear that Eve is about 4' 10"

Me too based on RG's photos.
Whomever this extra was she sure got a lot of screen time. In addition to the photo posted by RG,here are two more.

First is exiting the water after the run,the extra remains in the scene to the right through out the changing process.

Second..most of the running shots number 26 is nearby Selleck

Great pics Sam! It sures does look like her and I think she is very short....having said that, standing next to 6'4" T.S. makes anyone look short. Lily has seen her in person so she would be the best to answer your height question.
It would be interesting to find out if it was Eve who negotiated this into the deal for using Pahonu OR did they sweeten the pot and offer it to her for use of Pahonu, the tennis court and the wine cellar
I know the Iron Man was on Oahu from 1978 to 1980 before it was moved to the Big Island and this article http://www.kanakaikaika.com/index.php?o ... Itemid=261 refers to Eve being the first female to surf ski from Molokai to Oahu (also mentioned by RG) in 1979. We also know the Beauty Knows No Pain took place in season one so that fits with Eve being the swimmer next to T.M......plus if they were friends I could see this happening.....I could even see Tom Selleck being the one who asked Eve if she would like to be on the show as an extra.

Hi Kenji,

Based on the photos and screen time,I believe it's Eve.
I'm not sure what the reference to the Iron man has to do with anything. The whole Iron man scenes in the show were strictly shot for the show.

Beauty aired in April 81,the last Iron man on Oahu was Jan 1980.

When I mentioned the Iron Man in my prior post I wasn't implying this was an actual marathon, rather that of all the episodes where Eve would be an extra in many scenes would be this one because of her athletic ability and triathlon history. We certainly wouldn't see her strolling back & forth in the background at the KKC Beach Bar!

Hi Sam,

I get that the scenes were strictly done for the show and it was in later than Jan. 1980. I was just showing that around that time Eve was in great shape and playing an Iron Man (Woman) wasn't a stretch for her then.....just like RG stated.
